Can Yabusele's explosive return lead the 76ers to a long-awaited NBA Championship victory?

The French big man, Guerschon Yabusele, who stole the show in the Paris Olympics is back on American soil. The NBA world almost forgot the ‘Dancing Bear’ until he came out dominating against Team USA. And that campaign eventually handed him a 2nd chance in the league. This time with the Philadelphia 76ers. While the 28-year-old has already started giving bytes regarding his game time and fit into the Sixers, to the media, the fans don’t really know too much about his personal life. Especially the hooper’s dating life.

Heads up! This might actually disappoint you. Guerschon Yabusele indeed has a very private life, and there is nothing other than basketball on his social media handle. So, we don’t really know much about the star’s life off the court, let alone about his better half. But, we do have an interesting scoop for you. Before revealing it, it’s important to understand a bit of context and set the timeline.

Almost everyone knows that Guerschon Yabusele began his professional basketball journey with the Boston Celtics. That’s where he was lovingly called the ‘Dancing Bear’ for his explosive nature with a 7 ‘2 wing span. He played his rookie season in 2017-18 and stayed in the league for 2 years before the Celts waived him in the 2019 offseason. Following that, the 6 ‘8 big man played in different international leagues like the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA), and LNB Pro A, and finally settled with Real Madrid in Liga ACB.

During the hooper’s stint in China, Getty Images captured quite a few images of Guerschon Yabusele’s ‘girlfriend’ pushing a baggage trolley, as they were catching a flight to Shanghai from Paris in 2017. Notably, the star also had a brief stint with Shanghai Bilibili Sharks before joining the Celts. However, the name of his girlfriend was not mentioned anywhere.

Importantly, these pictures were snapped quite some time ago, so, we aren’t clear on his relationship status. Now that he has entered the NBA, fans can consume exclusive coverage of the big man, especially when he has a wholesome story behind this second chance.

The night that changed Guerschon Yabusele’s life

The star forward produced an impressive Olympic Finals performance, scoring 20 points with 2 steals, almost taking the game away from Team USA. Not to forget the way he posterized LeBron James, irking hilarious reactions all over the globe. Moreover, after the game, the star manifested his return to the NBA world. Yabusele took to his X handle and wrote, “Been waiting for a 2nd chance.. I’m ready,” with a bear emoji in August.

A month later, the French man is already in the league, suited up for the 76ers with a one-year contract worth $2.1 million. Speaking of his NBA return, he said, “It’s been five years and of course when the summer was coming I was expecting to get a call, but it just made me work harder, keep pushing, never giving up.”

The time off from the NBA has made him a better player, as he said, “I’m a different player now and I understand things more and I just keep on pushing.” Above all, with the Sixers stacked with Paul George, Joel Embiid, and Tyrese Maxey, Yabusele’s firepower off the bench will be a definite boost.
