You may know De’Aaron Fox as one who plays with fire on the court, but what no one knows is that it’s his family that fuels him. Swipa da Fox’s competitive spirit might shine brightest during games, but at home, it’s his deep love for his family that takes center stage. Who is De’Aaron Fox’s wife Reece Caldwell? Did she work for the Golden State Warriors after her stint in the WNBA?

Fox met his future life partner when he was 19 years old, at a valet in a hotel, and then Reece spotted him in a game against the Wizards in his second season. The duo knew they were made for each other and started dating soon after, making their relationship public via a post on Fox’s Instagram in 2019. A year later, on September 11, 2020, he proposed to her in Manhattan Beach. The power couple got married on August 6, 2022, in Malibu, California. However, she isn’t new to basketball!

Recce worked as a player development intern with the Golden State Warriors and the Washington Wizards, but before that, she had a life as a professional player. Yes, it began at home. Her father Ray Caldwell was once the coach of WNBA’s LA Sparks, which led Recce to love and play the sport from the age of 9 to the highest levels. She made it to the 2012 Texas Basketball Coaches All-State Team as a sophomore. She attended the Lady Bird Johnson High School in San Antonio in her junior year, where she played high school basketball.

She played in the USA Basketball U16 and U18 national teams and won gold both times at the FIBA World Championships. Do you she also played at McDonald’s All-American in 2014? She was ranked as the No. 9 in the espnW HoopGurlz Top 100 for the 2014 class!

Her passion later turned her into a college basketball player for UCLA, Texas Tech, and Cal-Berkeley. Her excellent performances sprung her into the WNBA’s Seattle Storm, where she attended training camp, before taking up the role of player development staff.

Fast forward to today, Fox feels lucky to have her, as she’s from the world of hoops herself, and knows what to say after a tough day. “After games, I definitely pick and choose what to say to him. If he has a bad game, a lot of the times my thing is, ‘Did you stay healthy? Are you happy?’ That’s what I care about.”

“Obviously, he’s not going to be happy that he lost, but De’Aaron as a human being first is what I care about. This basketball stuff will be good for 12 years, and then it’s going to be our relationship that we have to focus on after,” she said in an interview with Andspace. To which the Kings star replied, “I trust her opinion. She worked in player development in the NBA.” With that said, as you know his wife and their story, it’s now time to know about the family that they created.

The couple’s growing family is filled with love and joy. The couple was blessed with their first child, Reign Fox, on February 3, 2023, bringing a new sense of purpose and happiness into their lives. “It’s been amazing, being able to see him every single day and just seeing what he does, that’s new. He started walking at eight months and people were looking at us like we’re crazy. People wouldn’t believe it. He walks real easy now. He’s trying to start speeding up and run. It’s crazy,” Fox said in an interview.

He is also blessed with one more child. Just over a year later, on August 7, 2024, their daughter, Poppy, was born. “8/7/24 My California Golden Poppy💝🏵️” Swipa da Fox captioned on Instagram and shared a couple of pictures of when she was born.

De’Aaron Fox also shares how Reign has taken on the role of a big sister with so much care and excitement, already doting on little Poppy. Fox also has a son, Kai, from a previous relationship, creating a family that is filled with warmth and connection. Fox often speaks about the joy his children bring to his life, and how fatherhood has given the hoopster a deeper sense of purpose.
