Fresh from clinching a last-minute thriller against the Houston Rockets, LeBron James appears to have his mind still on the court. Within mere hours of the exhilarating victory, James retweeted and also displayed astonishment at a brief snippet featuring a dunk by Alex Fudge. The thunderous slam appears to be from one of the face-offs against the Sacramento Kings‘ G League affiliate. In that memorable play, Fudge powerfully drove from near the baseline. With extraordinary athleticism, he had his head nearly touching the rim as he gave fans a poster.

Who is Alex Fudge? What is his association with the Lakers?
Born in May 2003, Alex Fudge has already charted a promising course in his basketball career. Hailing from Florida, the young talent currently holds a two-way contract with the Lakers and plays for the South Bay Lakers in the NBA G League.

Fudge’s journey in basketball began during his high school years at Robert E. Lee Senior High School. Emerging as a highly-ranked recruit in the Class of 2020, Fudge earned the distinction of being a 4-star recruit; recognized by ESPN and 247Sports. With a whopping 27 college offers, he ultimately committed to LSU.
During the 2021–22 season, Fudge made his mark, averaging 3.3 points per game in 29 appearances as a freshman. Notably, he also contributed to LSU’s 2022 NCAA tournament run, sharing the court with future NBA players Tari Eason and Darius Days.
Transitioning to Florida after one season at LSU, Fudge averaged 5.8 points per game in 32 appearances for the Gators.

Despite going undrafted in the 2023 NBA draft, Fudge seized the opportunity to join the Los Angeles Lakers for the 2023 NBA Summer League. By the end of July, he solidified his connection with the Lakers, signing a two-way contract with the team.
