A.J. Green has had an eventful couple of years now, as not only Northern Iowa product was able to land a two-way contract with the Milwaukee Bucks but he’s now also playing under his fourth different head coach since arriving at Milwaukee in 2022. Green started his journey in the NBA after going undrafted in 2022, under the then-head coach of the Bucks Mike Budenholzer.

Later on, in 2023 Budenholzer was fired and was replaced by his longtime assistant Adrian Griffin. Who was also let go shortly after in January after which Joe Prunty led the team for three games and finally fourth coach under whom Green currently plays arrived, Glenn “Doc” Rivers. Playing under so many coaches can be a bit lot especially when you’re starting your career but for A.J. Green it’s part of the job.

Green said, “It’s part of the business of the NBA, but all I can do is my job, is to try and learn whatever the new changes or adjustments might be from coach to coach,” the 25-year-old further added, “I’m going to continue to do my job and control all the things that I’m in control of and just stay ready for any opportunity.” Staying ready! That the Bucks guard has done alright.

Green has seen improvement in his performances since landing a standard deal and has been averaging 8.2 points this season compared to last season’s 4.5 points. However, that’s not all! The Bucks guard had an eventful last year off-the-court as well, as Green tied the knot with his college sweetheart, Kaylee Donner. Milwaukee Bucks star A.J. Green exchanged his vows with his better half, Kaylee Donner on August 19th, 2023. Interestingly, Kaylee also has an athletic background. In fact, she is a university volleyball standout. Kaylee hails from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and is a daughter to parents Kandy Keiper Strowmatt and Matt Donner. Additionally, she also has a brother named Bryce.

Kaylee was a four-year starter at Rapids Jefferson High School and then earned her way to attend and play for the University of Northern Iowa where she played her collegiate volleyball as well. Furthermore, It is the same university for which A.J. Green played before signing for the Bucks. A.J. and Kaylee met during Kaylee’s freshman year and eventually started dating.

As Green said about their wedding, “That was pretty much the highlight (of the past year). Yeah, it (getting married) is tough to beat. Met her (during her) freshman year, my sophomore year. Yeah, (got married in the) middle of August. It was super-hot, but it was wonderful.” Referring to the couple’s special day as the highlight of his year.

And despite his name not being taken on the draft night in 2022, Green doesn’t have much to complain about on or off the court. The Bucks star is enjoying a great married life with his wife Kaylee who is a huge supporter of her husband and shares clips of his game on her social media whereas Green also shared their wedding pictures and also celebrated the couple’s first anniversary by posting on Instagram.
