It was during this time she met her future husband, Michael Porter Sr., who was also a basketball coach at a High School. Since then, her focus has shifted to motherhood, and has raised eight of her successful children.

While Lisa was a pretty successful athlete, Michael Porter Sr. was no less and represented the University of New Orleans during his college days. Furthermore, he also followed a similar trajectory career-wise to that of Lisa, as he played professionally in Europe and then returned to the United States to coach High School teams.

Regarded as one of the best coaches in the High School circuit, Michael has coached several NBA players as well, including his own sons, Michael Jr. and Jontay Porter.
