The genesis of hip-hop coincides with the rise of the NBA. Many NBA players have tried their hand at rapping and have also close links with big-industry rappers. Young is also tight with rappers. One of those rappers is $28 million-worth Quavo, who is a part of the Migos group. The artist has loved Young’s game and the bond between the two is brotherly.
During Young’s white-clad wedding ceremony, Quavo performed live. But this was without his group. He made his song “Ice Tray” all about Trae and the rapper made a lovely pun on weekdays, calling his wedding day “Trae Day”. Ice Tray was originally released in 2017 and features Lil Yachty and Quality Control. The veteran musician also commented on Young’s post. He simply wrote, “Ice Trae”.

Another huge rapper, Meek Mill, dominated the headlines too. While the Philly native couldn’t make it to Embiid’s wedding, the two still managed to have a lot of fun. The Philadelphia 76ers Center FaceTimed the rapping maestro. An over-the-moon Embiid sang Mill’s famous track “Dreams and Nightmares”. He looked ecstatic while singing the lyrics and remembered them from the heart.

The attitude shown by elite rappers and NBA players has considerable similarities. They have a “you can’t beat me” attitude. Among the retired players, Shaquille O’Neal embodied the spirit of rap and the NBA. His album “Shaq Diesel” sold thousands of copies and featured tracks like “I’M Outstanding”.
In the modern game, only a few command attention like Damian Lillard. MC D.A.M.E D.O.L.L.A has enchanted NBA and rap fans alike with his flow.
