Devin Booker leaves the Valley side guessing amid a tight game against the Indiana Pacers. Tonight, the Phoenix Suns hosted Tyrese Haliburton & Co. for a Thursday night challenge. Despite stepping on the floor with the Big 3, the Suns looked restrained and all over the place. Especially D-Book, who tweaked his ankle in the first quarter, and struggled to play throughout the game. Moreover, deep into the game, the star wasn’t found playing on the floor or, even on the bench, causing an alarming situation.
After Booker managed to play the first half despite tweaking his ankle, the NBA fraternity expected the star not to return in the second half. Surprisingly, he checked in right at the opening minute of the third quarter. However, it didn’t last long. Around the 5th-minute mark, the star exited the floor and wasn’t found on the bench as well. Later, the team announced Devin Booker wouldn’t return for the rest of the game, citing groin tightness.

In his 25-minute stay, Devin Booker scored 17 points, limping across the floor. On the other hand, Kevin Durant‘s game-high 37 points didn’t help the Suns defeat the Pacers. Moreover, the Indy side put up a collective performance spearheaded by Pascal Siakam’s 25-pointer. Around six players scored in double digits while the Suns had only 4. Booker’s injury undoubtedly cost the game for the Valley, especially since he suffered the injury while chasing a historic feat. The star guard was just 500 points away from becoming the All-Time scoring leader for the Suns.
At present, the team finds itself in a rather surprising slump, having lost four out of their last six games. When Kevin Durant’s return brought them two wins, even he couldn’t save the team from the Pacers.

While we witnessed the star tweak his ankle and limp throughout the first half, no one really knew when Booker injured his groin. The Suns’ coach, Mike Budenholzer, speaking after the game, said D-Book wasn’t aware of the play that caused the injury. Hopefully, it isn’t very serious. Also, the coach confirmed that the guard injured his left groin.
Moreover, we are still unaware of how many games Booker will miss. Groin tightness can be categorized as mild, moderate, or severe depending on the severity of the injury. So, the star baller could miss anywhere from 1 to 6 weeks based on the severity. Looking at how the Suns are struggling, Booker’s absence would further hamper the team’s progress this season.
It’s frustrating, especially when the team had everyone back in the lineup free from injuries. Speaking of it, Kevin Durant said, “That sucks. You hate that injuries can get in the way of beautiful basketball.”

He also added, “Hopefully, it’s about an hour. We’ll see how he feels in the next couple of days.” Next up, the Suns take on the Pistons on Saturday. The Valley side can seize the opportunity to regain their rhythm. What do you think? Let us know in the comments.
