The Brooklyn Nets have shown glimpses of being the dark horses of this season. Before the campaign, experts predicted the team would deliberately lose games to improve their odds for the draft lottery. However, they’ve turned into a surprise package, defeating teams for fun now! Amid this shock factor, the Brooklyn team has found itself on a major hump- injury setbacks. Following Cam Thomas’ hamstring injury, Cam Johnson has unfortunately joined him on the injury report with a double ankle strain.
But the big man is determined to return quickly.
Last week, the Nets shocked the then in-form Warriors with a 120-128 win. During that game, Cam Johnson stepped on Draymond Green‘s foot and twisted his ankle with 7 minutes left in the second quarter. While he struggled to move around, the medical staff decided to take him off the court. Later, he was diagnosed with a right ankle sprain and missed the next game.

A couple of days later, tonight, Cam Johnson rolled on his left ankle in the last minute of a losing cause against the Orlando Magic. Speaking of the injury, he said, “I just tweaked it… I’ll be fine. I’m gonna do everything I can right now to get it ready for tomorrow and evaluate. But I’m gonna fight to play,” quotes via Erik Slater.
Cam Johnson is dealing with sprains to both ankles. He turned his left tonight after turning his right last week at Golden State:

In the absence of Cam Thomas, Johnson had to step up the scoring, as he dropped a game-high 26 points. Unfortunately, it went in vain, as the team couldn’t match Orlando’s final flurry. And to top it all misery, the 28-year-old tweaked his ankle in the last minute and checked out with 18 seconds remaining on the clock, limping off the floor. If the hoopster misses out on the upcoming games, then Jalen Wilson and Trendon Watford will have to take care of the minutes on the frontcourt.

However, now, it’s like these injuries have infested their team.

Unfortunately, he suffered a hamstring strain. Ironically, he sustained the injury in the Warriors game. The game in which the other Cam twisted his right ankle. The latest update revealed that Thomas could take up to 3-4 weeks before recovering from the injury.
