The Golden State Warriors have officially announced that Chris Paul has been ruled out for at least the next two games. Another player on the Warriors injury report is guard Gary Payton II. He will be re-evaluated in one week for his right calf strain. GPII injured his calf during the third quarter of the Kings game. He came around a screen trailing De’Aaron Fox and immediately started limping after making that cut. The 31-year-old headed to the locker room and did not return for the rest of the game.

Has the Warriors’ Championship window closed?
Stephen Curry and Co. have dominated the league for nearly a decade. They have won 4 Championships in 6 NBA finals appearances since 2015. But the Warriors’ core of Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson are now in the later stages of their careers, and their championship window might have closed on them. Steph is the only player among the three playing at an elite level this season. He has been the best player for the Warriors and kept them afloat.

Klay is playing like a shell of himself, and his performance this season has been inconsistent. Draymond has been surrounded by controversies throughout the season, causing problems for the Warriors. He returned last game after serving a 5-game suspension for choking Rudy Gobert and immediately got into it with Kings guard Malik Monk. Apart from Klay and Draymond’s decline, the Warriors have been plagued by injuries. The rest of the league has improved drastically this season, and it seems unlikely that the Warriors will win a title this year. This might very well be the end of the Warriors dynasty.
