At 16, Micic began his pro career after signing for Mega Vizura. He made his debut in the Basketball League of Serbia and went on to play for the Adriatic League and the ABA League. Vasilije Micic has represented the Serbian National team at different levels. Back in 2011, he won a silver medal with the Serbian U18 team at the FIBA Europe Under-18 Championship. Then, in 2013, he grabbed another silver with the Serbian U19 team at the FIBA Under-19 World Cup, making it to the All-Tournament Team!

Micic debuted with the senior team at EuroBasket 2013, held in Slovenia. A few years later, in the EuroBasket 2017, his contributions led the team to bag the silver medal.
