After slightly disappointing stints at various NBA franchises, in 2024, Seth Curry signed with the Charlotte Hornets. He was traded to the Hornets with Grant Williams and a 2027 first-round draft pick in exchange for PJ Washington and two future second-round picks.

Things seemed pretty stable for the time being before June, when he was waived by the Hornets. Though, fortunately for Seth Curry, he was re-signed the following month. And Seth remains at his hometown side for now. But what kind of contract did the Charlotte side sign him to and how much will he be paid? If you have any of those questions in your mind, you have to come to the right place.

Seth had joined the Dallas Mavericks on a 2-year $8 million deal in 2023 before they traded him to the Charlotte Hornets the following year. However, his fee for the 2024/25 NBA season was non-guaranteed. So, the Hornets waived him after an injury ended his season early. They did this to be able to negotiate a better deal with him as a free agent.

Curry and his hometown side agreed to a contract that keeps him on the team for another year. His base salary now is a guaranteed $3,303,711 and the contract also carries a dead cap value of $2,087,519. This means even if the Hornets decide to release Seth, he will still make a tidy $2 million. But how does this amount stack up to what Seth Curry has earned through his NBA career?

In his first season in the NBA, all the way back in 2013, he was waived by 3 different teams, but not before he made $147,085 from them. The following years saw him bounce around. He signed a few 10-day contracts and even a couple of regular NBA contracts. But nothing stuck, leaving him hanging. In 2016, though, Seth found a semblance of stability when he signed with the Mavericks.

With this, Seth saw the biggest payday of his career then, at $3,028,410 in 2017. He then took a slight pay cut to join the Trail Blazers. But soon, he would find himself back in Dallas. This time he would cash in like never before, signing a 4-year, $32 million contract with the Mavs in 2019. The next 4 years made Curry a rich man, as his annual earnings did not drop below $6 million even once.

However, this streak came to an end when he joined his hometown side, the Charlotte Hornets. He signed for the Hornets for the aforementioned fee after they waived him. Therefore, Seth Curry has made a total upwards of $45 million in his NBA career, excluding brand deals off the court. While this is certainly not the most money someone has made as a basketball player in the NBA, it is still quite impressive. And do you really think Seth will complain about being a multi-millionaire?
