It hasn’t been an easy NBA run for the Golden State Warriors’ Kevin Knox II. He was a first-round pick for the New York Knicks in the 2018 NBA Draft. Knox averaged 12.8 points and 4.5 rebounds in his first year with them, decent numbers for a rookie. However, his minutes fell off drastically in the subsequent seasons. By the time of his 2022 move to the Detroit Pistons, he hadn’t started a game in 3 NBA seasons.
After the Utah Jazz waived his contract a day after signing him in 2024, it seemed like Knox’s NBA career was over when he joined the Summer League. However, after impressive showings for the Santa Cruz Warriors, their NBA affiliate, the Golden State Warriors gave him a second chance at life as an NBA player. And in his two brief appearances for the Dubs, fans can’t get Knox’s name out of their mouths.
But that makes you wonder, what kind of a deal did the Warriors offer him? Let’s answer that question today.

What is Kevin Knox II’s salary with the Golden State Warriors? When does the contract end?
In his return to the NBA, Kevin Knox signed a 10-day, $150,179 contract with the Golden State Warriors. They also signed guard Yuri Collins to a similar deal simultaneously. Knox’s deal has a dead cap value of $119,972. This contract mandates that Knox cannot be traded till May 19, 2025.
However, the contract itself will end on February 28th, 2025. After that, it’s up to the Warriors to decide whether they waive Knox or sign him to a regular NBA contract. Given the way he’s won over the Bay Area fans though, we’re leaning towards the Dubs going with the latter option. Now that you have an idea of the kind of contract the Dubs offered him, you may wonder how it measures up to the compensation he received from other clubs during his career. So let’s see how much he’s made in the NBA.

What’s your perspective on:
Can Kevin Knox II finally find stability with the Warriors, or is this just another short stint?
Have an interesting take?
The New York Knicks, who drafted Knox, paid him the most handsomely out of every club he’s been at. In his 4 years with the Knicks, Knox earned a whopping $15,357,952. Interestingly, even though he was on the Utah Jazz’s payroll for around a day, they still ended up paying him $825,686. What an absurd amount of money for not even a day’s work!

Finally, we have the Atlanta Hawks for whom Knox played only 17 games. However, they had to pay him around $5.8 million for those appearances. No wonder the Hawks traded him! All in all, after playing 308 games in the NBA, Kevin Knox II has earned $26,498,429 in his NBA career so far.
We’d say that is a very good deal compared to what some players are getting. However, whether he can earn more in the league is up to the Warriors and how they perceive Knox’s contributions. That said, the fans will gladly sign him to an extension provided he keeps up his energetic performances!
