Is Terance Mann all right? That question may have gone through the fans’ minds at the Intuit Dome as the matchup between the LA Clippers and the Portland Trail Blazers goes underway. It was only a month ago when LA Clippers’ injury woes had begun with Kawhi Leonard getting sidelined. In light of this, Lou Williams had asked Mann to step up, stating in an interview that “They (Mann) gotta have next man up mentality.” Now, due to recent events, it seems others will have to man up to cover for Mann.

With 2:01 minutes remaining in the third quarter, Terance Mann exited Tuesday’s game against the Trail Blazers. Earlier reports had indicated the player had sustained an apparent wrist injury. However, the same has now been confirmed as a fracture on the finger of his left hand. As a result, he was declared ‘OUT’ for the matchup’s remaining minutes, too.

Terance Mann could not perform beyond his average with the limited minutes he received. Before exiting, he had managed to add 5 points by going 2-4 with his field goals, and 1-2 with his three-pointers. Additionally, the player had also added a block to his stats. Mann’s limited contribution still helped the Clippers’ overall effort, and they won the matchup by a score of 127-105.

The team will not set the further evaluation on the 28-year-old point guard/shooting guard’s injury to take place until tomorrow. Despite this, one cannot underestimate the complications of a fractured finger. A few reports have speculated the injury will cause Terance Mann to miss out on a few upcoming games. On a minimum level, the player may simply be ‘OUT’ for the second leg of the back-to-back set when the Clippers go up against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Any form of absence will be unfortunate news for the LA franchise. After all, the Clippers already have 4 players listed as ‘OUT’ on their Injury Report, including Kawhi Leonard. The small forward’s absence continues to impact the team after missing all the regular season games up to this point. However, Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue has confirmed Leonard is “progressing well”.

How can the LA Clippers go forward without Terance Mann?

According to CBS Sports, the Clippers have a plan if Terance Mann stays ‘OUT’ for the foreseeable future. In order to cover for the backup shooting guard, both Amir Coffey and Jordan Miller can see an increase in their playing minutes. The backup small forward for the LA Clippers, Amir Coffey, has already played 22 games, and started in 6, during this ongoing season.

As the tertiary small forward, Jordan Miller hasn’t received many chances to play. Due to that, he has only appeared in 12 games and started in 0. Despite that, he averaged 7.5 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.3 assists during the matchups in which he was present. Therefore, both players are more than enough to cover for Mann.
