Scottie Barnes puts himself in trouble once again! The Toronto Raptors star already missed 11 games this season, recovering from a right orbital fracture. Tonight, after a scary impact on the right foot, it looks like he will miss many more games than his previous injury. Following the terrifying fall, teammates safely escorted him back to the locker room, and the franchise then announced that he wouldn’t return for the rest of the night.

Around the 6th minute mark in the third quarter, Scottie Barnes took off near the rim to block Knicks Karl-Anthony Towns’ layup. While the athleticism helped him float up in the air, he was in trouble while landing back on the floor. The star had an awkward landing, twisting his right leg during the impact. Barnes immediately fell on the floor, whimpering in pain and he can be seen, saying, “Oh my god!” a couple of times before the medical staff reached the spot.

There was another scary visual where Scottie Barnes was saying, “I can’t feel my foot” to the medical staff.

Looking at the visuals made it clear that the injury must be much worse than what we imagined. He wasn’t able to put any weight on his right ankle, and the team ruled him out, citing an ankle strain. Unfortunately, the Up North side will have to run their machine without their offensive ace brigade one more time. This time, maybe even longer.

So, the Raptors couldn’t win the game despite putting up a neck-to-neck fight. The Knicks, spearheaded by KAT‘s 24 points, helped them take home a comfortable 113-108 win. Barnes’ absence certainly made the difference. The 23-year-old only managed to punch in 23 minutes and he dropped 15 points with 5 rebounds. Nevertheless, there’s always hope at the end of the tunnel…

Nevertheless, the team will re-evaluate Scottie Barnes on Tuesday and will issue further developments about his return. At the same time, the Raptors inevitably have to play a few games without their star player. Looking closely at the ankle strain, we still aren’t sure about the severity of this injury. So, Scottie might miss up to 1-8 weeks depending on the severity.

The fourth-year forward has unfortunately become a regular customer, visiting the medical staff frequently in the last few seasons. Before his right orbital fracture this season, the star sustained a left-hand fracture at the latter end of last season that kept him sidelined through the season break.

Coming back to the present day, Davion Mitchell and Ja’Kobe Walter will likely see an increased role in Scottie Barnes’ absence. How many games do you think the 23-year-old hoopster will miss this time? Let us know in the comments.
