Florida is on high alert amid rising tension! Paolo Banchero goes down once again. The 22-year-old star forward, who came into the Orlando Magic side a few days ago after recovering from a torn oblique, sustained another injury. This has been the story of the Magic side, as they lose players at regular intervals. Tonight, taking on the Boston Celtics at the TD Garden, the rising superstar suffered a nasty injury in his eye.

Taking on the defending champions, the Magic barely stood any chance as they continued to build on their lead right from tip-off. To further worsen the situation, Banchero took a hit on his face from the C’s Kristaps Porzingis and stayed on the floor. The medical staff rushed to tend him and took him off the court. Notably, the star baller didn’t head to the locker room but sat on the bench with his right eye appearing red.

This scary incident occurred during an offensive play in the third quarter. Around 6:36 remaining in the quarter, contesting the Celtics’ big man, Paolo Banchero drove up the lane and attempted the floater near the rim. Kristaps Porzingis, in an attempt to block the shot, landed his palm on the star forward’s face.

After the blow, the star baller remained on the floor for quite some time until the medical staff reached him. After a brief medical attention, Banchero stood up to shoot two free throws on the shooting foul and exited the floor. Fortunately, around the two-minute mark in the third quarter, the star returned to the floor.

When asked about his eye, Paolo Banchero had a straightforward answer: “I’m not blind.” Well … that’s good for Orlando. Nevertheless, his return didn’t make any difference as the C’s continued to dominate the game and headed toward a blowout win. Moreover, Banchero didn’t have a great game either, as he struggled to shoot the ball (8-20 FG, 21 Pts).

The team has lost 4 of their last 5 outings. It’s quite surprising for the team to lose games after the return of their offensive centerpiece. After losing both their offensive leaders, Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner, the team managed to stay afloat in the top 4 of the East ladder. But now, the team has gone down to the sixth seed with a 23-20 record.

It would be just a matter of a few games before the Magic would find them out of the playoff contention. So, it’s high time that they start looking at their options before it’s too late. First of all, the team has a positive update amid their poor stretch. The German forward, who is recovering from an oblique injury, dropped an update on his recovery.

Wagner said, “Pretty much the muscle is not the issue at this point. It’s more of getting back in shape, making sure that I check all of the boxes before I go play a game.” So, it’s not very long before the star returns to the fold. So, until then the team has to hold its ground and not lose many games.
