The 24-year-old point guard had to exit the Amway Center early after suffering a collision on the court. It was a part of the concussion protocol from the NBA to protect the health condition of the basketball players. It all happened after Luka’s head clashed with an opposition player’s knee while the former was falling backward.

The freak accident caused a scarcity among the spectators for a few moments before things got resolved. Doncic returned to the Mavs bench after a thorough evaluation and received the green light to resume. The sight delighted the fans as the visitors eventually won the game 102-117 after a dominant display on the court.

The Dallas side made an incredible comeback in the second half to outscore the opponent by 28 points. Luka had a major role to play in that as he went 29-3-6 in 36 minutes of gameplay for his franchise. His marvelous scoring form continued despite the significant obstacle as he shot over 50% from the field in the game.

Can they resurrect themselves?

Despite a brilliant start last season, the Dallas organization failed to keep up with the rest of the league. The Western Conference sides passed them by soon enough as they succumbed to the pressure. It cost them a playoff spot, eventually.

This season has seen a similar start from them. So, they must keep in mind the lessons of the previous campaign. As the Mavericks look to make a name for their own, their journey for the remainder would be interesting to watch.
