Luka Doncic dropped a jump scare to the Mavs fans with a scary fall. Game 1 of the Finals encounter between the Dallas Mavericks and Boston Celtics turned into a one-sided affair. The Celts managed to give the TD Garden an opportunity for a loud cheer early in the game, as they ballooned the lead to 17 points in the first quarter. Since then, it has been a struggle for the Mavs to chase down the massive lead.

On top of that, the Mavs’ offensive leader took a scary fall at the baseline. Around the seventh-minute mark in the third quarter, Luka Doncic ran up the lane against Al Horford for a layup. Unfortunately, he missed his footing and slammed his knee on the floor and his body against the cushions after he tripped. The 25-year-old had to immediately return to the game as Horford in-bounded the ball quickly. Nevertheless, Doncic looked in immense pain as he ran across the court. He was also disappointed that the refs didn’t make any calls.

It was Luka Doncic & Co.’s effort to come closer to the Celts’ lead in the third quarter. The Mavs almost chased down the lead, cutting it short to 8 points with four minutes remaining in the third quarter. However, the Celtics again picked up pace, sinking three quick 3-pointers to take the lead to 20 points, rubbing salt to the injury.

Importantly, Luka Magic wasn’t at his 100% best in tonight’s game. He entered the game with a right knee sprain and a left ankle soreness. Apart from that, there were multiple instances of the star bleeding from his knee. Moreover, he had a poor night, shooting the ball with a 12-26 FG. He clocked out of the game along with Kyrie Irving with around 5 minutes left in the game as they took the lead to 25 points.

Will Luka Doncic play Game 2?

Despite having a right knee sprain, the Slovenian star managed to turn up for the game. And he again slammed his knee during the scary fall. This will only lead down to one question: will he play Game 2? Through the course of this postseason, Luka Doncic has managed to play all the games despite struggling with multiple injuries.

Moreover, after the game, the star gave a positive update at the press conference. He said, “Only when you lose you win… We got to focus on the next game.” While he didn’t reveal his availability for the next game, it almost confirmed his participation. Apart from that, he also has a lot to prove in the series after a disappointing Game 1.

After all the hype surrounding the best backcourt duo in the league, both guards failed to make an impact. Even though Luka recorded a double-double with 30 points and 10 rebounds, this wasn’t his usual game. He made only one assist while he averaged 8.4 in this postseason. The 25-year-old wasn’t at his personal best. Additionally, when the Celtics hurt the Mavs by raining three-pointers, he couldn’t counterattack on that front, as he went 4-12 from the arc.

Will Luka Doncic make a comeback performance in Game 2? Let us know in the comments.
