Lonzo Ball fell into trouble yet again. Luck doesn’t seem anywhere closer to the 27-year-old over the past few years. After overcoming multiple injuries within the last six months, the star guard sustained a fresh one. The Chicago Bulls took on the Philadelphia 76ers at the City of Brotherly Love tonight. The Bulls had a smooth run dominating the Sixers right from the get-go with a steady double-digit lead until they faced a setback in the second quarter.
Around the 6th minute mark, in a defensive possessive against Kelly Oubre, who drove up the lane for a lay-up, Ball crashed out on the Sixers’ big man, Adem Bona. The ref immediately blew the whistle, offering two free throws. Lonzo Ball, who looked comfortable throughout the game, suddenly seemed unsettled. Zo immediately clocked out and walked straight into the locker room, leaving everyone to scratch their heads in confusion.

Lonzo Ball going straight to the locker room … something was up with his left hand from the looks of things.

Ball had an impactful eight-minute play before he checked out, dropping 6 points with 2-2 FG from the arc along with 2 rebounds and an assist. The team might need his service later in the second half, considering the Sixers’ unpredictability. Moreover, looking at the star’s confident march toward the locker room, he might return to the floor after the halftime break.
(Latest update) Unfortunately, he won’t return for the rest of the game, as the Bulls’ PR updated that Lonzo Ball had sustained a head laceration. It’s a deep cut or tear in the skin on the head. Notably, the severity of the injury is yet to be disclosed. Meanwhile, the setback didn’t seem to affect the Bulls as they continued to build their lead. On the other hand, the fans have a lot to say!

Lonzo Ball’s injury leaves fans in anxiety
At the start of the game, fans took over the online world, appreciating the star guard’s commitment. A specific video clip from tonight’s game surfaced online, where he battled out a difficult defensive possession and won it. Little did they know that he’d walk out of the game mid-way.
Prayers flooded in. While some fans expressed their frustration with their missed parlays, loyal fans were worried about his health. A fan voicing out the majority wrote, “Rest up gang.“ Similarly, another concerned fan wrote, “Take it easy, Zo, I’m just glad it’s nothing knee-related.” We all know the trouble that Lonzo Ball faced with his knee. The 27-year-old missed two consecutive seasons, recovering from multiple knee surgeries.
Notably, Ball came into the professional balling after undergoing two cartilage transplants. He’s truly one of a kind. Another fan blamed the franchise for Ball’s repeated injuries, writing, “why are the bulls injuring all their players?“ While there isn’t any evidence for the claim, on the surface level, it does seem that way.

Taking Ball’s case, he has already missed 22 games with multiple injuries like wrist sprain and quadriceps contusion. Before him, Zach LaVine had also faced consistent injuries during his Bulls stint. Anyway, moving on, a set of fans didn’t really appreciate what they saw on the floor.
A fan wrote, “A cut on the head ,stitch it up ,go back in. Suck it up Nancy.” While the majority of fans lauded the guard’s commitment on the floor, this fan expected a bit more of toughness. Another fan, riding with the same emotion, wrote, “Bro is made out of glass.“ Except that he wasn’t made of glass. For someone to return to the NBA after double cartilage transplants, he must love the game more than himself. What do you think? Let us know in the comments.
