The New York Knicks fought for their lives at the TD Garden. Boston wore their most unforgiving garb, grabbing the Knickerbockers by their throats, dominating their home turf as always. But, for New York, there was something more to be concerned about. Winning and losing are parts of the game, but to have their biggest star walk out of the court? An unbearable sight. Now imagine what it must feel like to watch Karl-Anthony Towns limp his way to the locker room.
Yes, in the fourth quarter of the Knicks vs. Celtics game, when the former was trying to keep up with the home team, KAT missed a dunk. Well, it’s pretty normal to miss a dunk or two. But then, he held his knees in pain. Trying to find his grip, Karl-Anthony Towns tried maneuvering around but couldn’t. Simply put, the situation doesn’t look so good. He was then seen limping and leaving the court, heading towards the locker room.

It’s too early to say what’s the intensity of the injury, that is, if any. Karl-Anthony Towns has been dealing with a persistent knee issue throughout this season. He missed a game or two in November. Now we need to wait for further reports on the extent of the limping situation, while he returned to the court to continue in the game vs. the Boston Celtics.

Karl-Anthony Towns returns to the floor but doesn’t look great
You can call it sheer grit to play for the Knicks, pushing the limits to minimize the losing gap. But at the risk of escalating the injury? Karl-Anthony Towns surely surprised everyone at TD Garden. Scoring 24 points, KAT tried his best to win the game, but sadly it was the Celtics who clinched a 118-105 win at home. Meanwhile, Towns’ return to the floor shocked everyone, even the broadcasters couldn’t help but point out how bold that move was.
“Clearly not feeling right,” one of the broadcaster noted, sounding concerned. After returning from the locker room and getting checked by trainers on the bench, Towns re-entered the game for the Knicks with over four minutes remaining. Honestly, there was no need for Karl to return to the game. But then, a Tom Thibodeau-led team is going to come with worn-down bodies and playing unimportant minutes.
