The Nuggets have a major bump on their road amid their successful chase down at LA. Tonight, the Mile-High City took on the Lakers at the Crypto.com arena, carrying over the playoff rivalry. While the new-look Lakers got the better of the visitors in the first half, the Denver side quickly repaid early in the third quarter. Following that, when Jamal Murray & Co. looked to capitalize on their push, the point guard suffered a scary eye injury.

After heading to the locker room with a 6-point deficit in the first half, the Nuggets quickly took the lead three minutes into the third quarter. Murray also had a promising night, making 5-10 FG compared to his previous performances. Around the 7th-minute mark, when he went up against Anthony Davis for a jumper, the big man’s fingers badly poked his eyes, leaving in him immense pain.

Ironically, Murray received the fearsome nudge from the man, who has a history of eye injury. In the last season, AD even missed a game after suffering an eye injury during the game.

However, the star, after a brief medical consultation in the locker room, returned to the game in the fourth quarter. Returning to the floor, Jamal Murray wasn’t as effective as he was in the first half. The point guard attempted only two shots and missed out on both of them. Fortunately, the Nuggets didn’t need much help from him, as they closed out the game with a blowout 127-102 win.

The team has lost two players from the championship team. While Kentavious Caldwell-Pope was traded to Orlando, Aaron Gordan has been out for a while with a calf injury. So, the LA side’s win was almost on the cards, and they played like it in the first half, ending the second quarter with a 6-point lead.

However, in the last quarter, despite a no-show from Jamal Murray, the team managed to produce a blowout win. Thanks to the combined effort of Michael Porter Jr. and Nikola Jokić, adding 58 points together. Moreover, the Lakers have to wait until March to seek revenge for the blowout loss. Importantly, Jamal Murray is out of danger, as the team hasn’t listed him in the injury after the win. Do you think the Lakers will bounce back and disrupt the one-sided record?
