But his shot was swatted mid-air by LeBron while Austin Reaves stood in front of JB to block his lane. Although Brunson got the foul call, he landed awkwardly on AR’s foot and brutally sprained his right ankle. The Knicks star fell straight to the floor and immediately grabbed his foot in visible agony as his teammates and staff rushed to check on him.

Meanwhile, the Lakers challenged the foul call. However, it was a failed review as the replay showed Reaves making illegal contact with Brunson during the play. Despite the injury, JB showed shades of Kyrie Irving from a few days ago by staying in the game to shoot the resulting free throws. And he even tied the score by draining both shots. Unfortunately, he could not continue playing because of the pain and limped off to the locker room.

Sure enough, Brunson was done for the night and he finished with 39 points and ten assists. Meanwhile on the court, the Knicks could not recover after their captain’s departure and they ended up losing by four points.
