Isaiah Stewart is slowly becoming one of the most talked about players. But for all the wrong reasons. It was only last week that he stared down and exchanged some words with LeBron James after blocking his shot. Sure, that was all within the rules of the game. But he might have taken his antics a bit too far during tonight’s Bucks game. The Pistons star intentionally fouled Giannis Antetokounmpo with a move that could have led to a serious injury. Obviously, the Bucks fans were not pleased with Stewart’s vicious act.
It was during the closing minutes of the third quarter that Giannis posted up against Stewart. Well, he was able to get past him with a shoulder bump and some quick footwork. However, as The Greek Freak rose up to finish the easy layup, Stewart yanked his jersey from behind while Giannis was air borne. Not only did Giannis miss the shot, but he hit the deck hard because of the sudden pull.
Sure enough, the crowd gasped and looked on in concern as the Bucks star lay on the floor in pain. Upon review, it was clear that Stewart’s act was intentional and he got ejected from the game with a flagrant two penalty for ‘unnecessary and excessive’ pull to Giannis’ jersey. Fortunately, Giannis did not sustain any injury and was able to continue playing.

Well, it is unclear why Stewart acted the way he did. But it is noteworthy that Giannis got ejected from a game last season for staring down the Pistons Center after posterizing him. Yes, it was the same game when the Bucks star hilariously sat among the fans furious at the referee’s decision. Maybe, Stewart just did not want to get dunked on again.

Well, this is not the first time Stewart has gotten in trouble because of his antics as he also got into a physical altercation with LeBron three years ago.

And one fan even pointed it out in frustration saying, “So glad Bron made that bum leak.” Yes, Stewart’s encounter with LBJ turned into a bloody mess as he caught an accidental elbow to the eye from the Lakers star. But it was what Stewart did after the hit that caught everyone’s attention. He began aggressively going through his own teammates and staff members to get to LeBron for a potential physical altercation.

Seeing Stewart’s hard foul on Giannis, one netizen was even reminded of the older hoop era, “Looks like the 80s again.” Well, such fouls were more prevalent during Michael Jordan’s era, when players used to intentionally foul players just to stop them from scoring. And it has even been documented in The Last Dance series. But there is no tolerance for plays like this in today’s NBA.
