Misery continues for the Warriors! They headed into tonight’s Wizards clash aiming to double down on Wednesday’s win against the Wolves. And they even got a massive boost before the game as Draymond Green finally made his return following a three-game hiatus. But things quickly took an unfortunate turn when the former DPOY was forced to leave the floor just three minutes after tip-off.
Soon after the game began, the Bay floor general could be seen hobbling on the court. Seeing their star forward struggle, Steve Kerr called a timeout and subbed him out. A camera later caught him leaving the bench and limping off to the locker room.
Adding to the concerns, it was later reported that Draymond Green would not return for the remainder of the game! The reason? Left calf tightness. With that call, his night ended early, and he went scoreless with only one rebound. Of course, this calf injury adds to the growing list of health issues he has been dealing with this season.

Well, he missed the last three games because of an illness. And Steve Kerr even revealed how bad the situation was earlier this week, “More illness today. He woke up not feeling well at all and came to shootaround and looked like a ghost. He was hoping that he would be better after nap this afternoon with some hydration. He’s not been well.”
On top of that, Draymond Green has also been dealing with lingering back issues, involving tightness. And the calf injury could force him to miss even more games going forward. Obviously, that would be a massive blow to the Bay team because the veteran has been solid when healthy, averaging 8.7 points and over six rebounds. But Kerr had already warned everyone that this could happen!

As great as Draymond Green is, he’s no longer the player he used to be a few years ago. Obviously, because of age. Sure enough, the constant unavailability due to multiple health concerns proves it. Turns out, Kerr already knew this was a possibility and even said the same, in a recent interview, “Unfortunately, they are just at the age and at the stage of their careers with so much wear and tear that no matter how you slice it, they’re gonna miss some games.” By ‘they’ he also meant Steph Curry, who is two years older than Green.
Moreover, the head coach, who’s a model NBA professional himself, highlighted the effects of Father Time catching up to a player. “It’s just when they’re injured, we have to be really careful, otherwise they’re gonna miss a month or two and there goes our season… It’s not easy, but this is the reality when players get older.”

Well, it’s sad to see that the core of arguably the greatest modern-day NBA dynasty gradually moving toward the end of their careers and showing signs of it with constant injuries. And Dub Nation would be praying that they get at least one final title run before the legends officially hang their boots. With Klay Thompson already a distant memory, what do you think’s going to happen?
