The Golden State Warriors added Stephen Curry to their already prolonged list of injuries tonight before facing the Utah Jazz. For a team struggling to build any winning momentum, the Bay is desperate for a win tonight. However, that pursuit almost saw another major nightmare. In the third quarter, Dennis Schroder landed awkwardly after missing a layup, spreading panic along the Warriors sidelines.

Draymond Green, who is recovering from a calf strain, jumped in to help. In addition, two of the trainers needed to assist the German point guard to the locker room as he hobbled into the tunnel. The fall itself felt scary to the announcers, too. “The way he landed, sometimes it’s a weird fall it scares you so much, you have an awkward feeling but when you go back there you are actually okay. It was just a little frightening” they said on the broadcast.

It appeared as if Schroder twisted his ankle. The Warriors, who were tangled in a close battle with the Jazz couldn’t afford to lose Schroder’s leadership and facilitating.

Luckily, the veteran PG returned to the bench shortly after, although with bulky taping around his left ankle. Since then, he has also managed to return to the game.

The Warriors are clinging on to a nine-point lead at the end of the third quarter. With Dennis Schroder on the floor, Steve Kerr will surely feel much more secure about closing out the game and getting a much-needed win for the Warriors.

Dennis Schroder’s return was much needed for the Warriors

What’s your perspective on:

With Schroder back, do the Warriors have what it takes to finally turn their season around?

Have an interesting take?

Already shorthanded, the Golden State Warriors put their trust in Schroder to run the point and open up the floor for the Warriors. Facing the Jazz, a team with the second-worst record in the league did make things easier. Moreover, the team has managed to stay above the water without Stephen Curry, with a 5-3 record without their most dangerous scorer.

However, with even Kuminga out with an extensive injury, the Bay lacked scoring majorly. That’s when Schroder is stepping up and enjoying arguably his best game in a Warriors uniform. As Utah continues to take the game to the wire, Schroder’s contributions have been instrumental in the Warriors holding a slight advantage.

So far, he has compiled 23 points with a few minutes remaining in the fourth. With Curry absent, the 31-year-old became the Warriors’ three-point weapon. He has splashed five triples so far, keeping the 22-23 Warriors in a position of power. Furthermore, his ball-hawking presence can’t be undermined either having recorded a team-best 2 steals so far in the contest.

All that the Golden State Warriors need to ensure is closing out the Jazz who are also playing without former All-Star forward Lauri Markannen tonight. Having Dennis Schroder back for doing so is a blessing for the team.
