The Phoenix Suns faced off against the San Antonio Spurs tonight, with the Spurs taking a close lead in the game, winning 104-102. With the Suns currently listed as the 6 seed on the Western Conference Points chart, efforts were being made from their side to ensure that their position is maintained until the arrival of the playoffs. This required putting up a commendable offensive play by the top three highest-average scorers this season: Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal. However, looking at what occurred just a few minutes ago, one of the player’s contributions ended up coming short and may remain short for future games as well.

Sports journalist, Gerald Bourget took to his official X account to share a highlight from the recent game. He stated that “Bradley Beal seems to be grabbing his hand after contesting a shot from Sochan. He was doubling over, holding it going into the timeout. A bad night keeps getting worse”.

The injury seemed to have occurred just as the 3x NBA-All Star had recorded his 30 minute of the game. Prior to it, the player was seen delivering one of his worst performances of the season, having averaged only 9 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. This was in complete contrast to his counterparts Durant and Booker, who had each contributed 29 and 36 points respectively. Beal was not the only one to drop out during the game, as Suns star Jusuf Nurkic also had to be benched after reportedly sustaining a right ankle sprain during the second half. Taking advantage of the situation, Spurs players Jeremy Sochan and Devin Vassel put up their own offensive and barely clinched the win by 2 points. With this loss, the Suns have now dropped to the 8 seed. Once again, the franchise will have to fight their way into the playoffs but in a limited period of time.

What other injuries has Bradley Beal sustained this season?

Reports have now started to come in that Bradley Beal may have damaged his finger during the game, resulting in his exit. If true, then this will not be the first major injury that the player has sustained this season.

Beal had barely played his first three games of the season before he had to opt out due to his ongoing back issues. He had barely returned in December when an on-court mishap during a game against the New York Knicks caused him to injure his ankle. By the time the All-Star season started to roll around, the Suns shooting guard had only played in 30 of his team’s 54 games. He didn’t receive a break even after that, as a hamstring injury soon overtook the player.

For Suns fans, Beal’s trade probably meant the formation of another ‘big-three’ group that would take their team to new heights. With the continuous back-to-back injuries, however, it looks like fans won’t be seeing the 30-year-old in his full form until the next season.
