Bradley Beal cannot seem to catch a break. The Phoenix Suns superstar has been playing with a mask on since he injured his nose during last week’s game against the Pacers. Beal took a nasty elbow to his face from Pacers Center Myles Turner last Friday and immediately left the game with a bloody nose. Although he returned to the floor in the 4th quarter, he had to play the rest of the game with nose plugs to stop the bleeding.

Despite wearing a mask following the injury, Beal took another bizarre hit to his face in tonight’s clash against the Atlanta Hawks. Beal re-injured his fractured nose after a Hawks defender accidentally hit his face while trying to block his shot during a layup.

Although Beal managed to finish the layup and got an And-1 call, he immediately fell to the floor due to the re-aggravation of his injury. The Suns’ guard clutched his nose in pain and continued to walk up the court, holding a towel to his face. Beal headed to the bench to receive further treatment.

Fortunately for the Phoenix Suns, Beal was not hurt enough to sit out the rest of the game. He continued playing the game and finished with 9 points, 6 assists, and 2 rebounds in the first half. Beal has been playing with a nasal fracture since the Pacers game, and tonight’s hit to the face might have elongated his recovery time. That means he will either sit out for some games to fully recover or continue playing with a mask.

However, the latest injury to his nose has caused him to lose all the momentum. It is evident from his recent performance that Beal’s broken nose is bothering him.

Beal is averaging only 13.3 points since he broke his nose in the Pacers game. Even in tonight’s game against the Hawks, Beal went 4 of 11 from the field in the first half and missed all 4 of his three-point attempts.

Beal has shown immense courage and heart by continuing to play despite being injured. But him not being at 100 percent might be hurting the Suns even more. Kevin Durant and Co. have risen to the 6th spot in the Western Conference and cannot afford to get off track. Bradley Beal might have to reconsider sitting out a few games to completely recover from his injury so that it does not affect his performance for long.
