Luck has not been on the Golden State Warriors side this season. Injuries and controversies have plagued their season from the get-go. Moments after Draymond Green returned to the lineup following his 5-game suspension, the Warriors suffered another blow as veteran guard Chris Paul got injured after playing just 5 minutes in the last game. Soon after, Gary Payton II injured his calf and left the game in the third quarter. With so many injuries, it’s a wonder they’ve managed to win 8 games this season.
While Stephen Curry and Co. were still recovering from the massive blows, they received another bad news about Forward Andrew Wiggins ahead of their clash with the LA Clippers. Let’s find out what happened to Andrew Wiggins.

The Warriors needed Wiggins’ firepower against Kawhi Leonard and Co. The Clippers have started to figure out how to play with James Harden in the lineup, and they are beginning to pick up some pace. Harden went off for 26 points in the last game, helping his team get the win over Sacramento. It will not be easy for Stephen Curry and Co. to pull off a win tonight without Wiggins, Chris Paul, and Gary Payton II.

Wiggins is crucial for the Warriors’ success
Andrew Wiggins was a key piece in the Warriors Championship run in 2022. He was the number 2 option behind Stephen Curry and played hard on both ends of the floor. Wiggins averaged 18.3 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks in the finals against Boston, and he was even in consideration to win the Finals MVP trophy. Even though the trophy eventually went to Steph, the Warriors would not have won without Andrew Wiggins.
Wiggins has not been able to get back to his 2022 form this season. He is averaging only 12.8 points and 4.4 rebounds so far but is slowly starting to pick up some pace. Wiggins played great in the last game despite his team losing to the Kings. With Klay Thompson’s performance showing a massive decline this season, the Warriors need Andrew Wiggins to perform like this consistently. It is still uncertain when Wiggins will return to action.
