The Milwaukee Bucks beat the Orlando Magic today. They demolished them with a 19-point gap, actually. Damian Lillard played an amazing game tonight with 30 points in 30 minutes, including a jaw-dropping 3-pointer. However, that is not what has got everyone talking. That would be the Bucks’ shooting guard, Andre Jackson Jr., walking off mid-game due to an injury.
Jackson collected a rebound with just a little over ten seconds left in the first half. But literally five seconds later, he got into a collision. Jackson looked to be in discomfort almost immediately and went to the locker room ahead of the team.
He attempted to warm up with the assistance of trainer Scott Faust, but his attempt was futile. Jackson was still in pain and he was ruled out of the rest of the game because of it. He returned to the locker room, but then came back out and sat on the bench for the rest of the game.

Per Bucks PR, Andre Jackson Jr. has a right hip contusion and he is out for the remainder of tonight’s game.

Reports indicate that Andre Jackson Jr. suffered a hip contusion during the game. Milwaukee Bucks head coach, Doc Rivers admitted to not knowing the extent of Jackson’s injury when asked about in the post-game press conference. “I have no idea, honestly. Yeah, I just know he couldn’t play in the second half,” Doc said candidly in response to a reporter’s question about Jackson.
The Bucks were already down a shooting guard after the injury to Gary Trent Jr., who also suffered a hip injury earlier this month. Losing 2 of their SGs in the span of less than a week does not bode well for the Bucks. However, fans will be pleased with their team’s performance tonight. Two players in particular were amazing for the Bucks against the Magic, so let’s discuss that.

Even dark clouds have silver linings. And despite the injury to the Bucks’ Andre Jackson Jr., there were some positive takeaways for Milwaukee from the game against the Orlando Magic. Namely, the absolute stellar showings from their stars Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo.
As mentioned prior, Lillard scored 30 in 30, but he also had 5 rebounds, and 4 assists within that timeframe. Shooting at a 68% clip tonight, he scored 13 of the 19 field goals he attempted. At the same time, he made every shot he attempted from beyond the three-point line. Including one from over 30 feet away, madness from the Bucks’ point guard!
On the other hand, Giannis Antetokounmpo dropped 26 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 assists in the 30 minutes he played. Although he did not attempt any 3-pointers, Ant still shot with 73% accuracy, making 11 of 15 shots from open play. His and Dame’s heroics ensured that the Bucks secured a comfortable victory in spite of the injury to Andre Jackson Jr. at the end of the second quarter.

With this victory, the Bucks have passed up the Magic and now sit 4th in the Eastern Conference. After dropping their highest point total this season in their last game, the Bucks have now registered their best shooting numbers with 62.5% in tonight’s game against the Magic.
Surely title aspirations are firmly set in the minds of Doc Rivers and co. as the league heats up. Here’s wishing Andre Jackson Jr. a speedy recovery so he can be a part of proceedings soon!
