Kevin Durant has not found much playoff success since leaving the Warriors six years ago. Despite suiting up for multiple franchises and playing alongside superstars like Kyrie Irving, James Harden, and Devin Booker, he is still chasing that elusive first ring without Stephen Curry. Moreover, with the Suns falling to the 11th seed this year, speculations are that KD could get traded this summer. It looks like Phoenix is ready to pull the plug!
Amid the rumors, frustration is clearly rising for the Slim Reaper as he got into a heated physical altercation with Desmond Bane during tonight’s Grizzlies clash.
The incident occurred in the closing seconds of the third quarter. With the Suns trailing by two points, rookie Cam Spencer forced a turnover on Durant by intercepting his pass. It led to a Grizzlies fastbreak on the other end, finishing with a clutch last-second three-pointer for Cam over KD. Hyped after the shot, the rookie charged at the two-time champion and began taunting him.

Obviously, Durant did not like it and pointed at Cam, likely trash-talking him.
However, KD’s focus immediately shifted to Bane, who jumped into the situation to rescue his rookie. This led to Durant going face-to-face with Bane. After a heated verbal exchange, Durantula shoved the Grizzlies star while their teammates stepped in to separate them. Unfortunately, the damage was already done as the officials penalized KD with a technical foul for his unsporting act. Even Spencer got a tech for initiating the whole incident.
But moments like these get eyeballs to the already declining viewership of the NBA. More of these, please!
Anyhow, this was not the first time Durant got into it with the rookie tonight. They indulged in another heated back-and-forth after Spencer fouled KD on a pass in the early quarters. Ja Morant and Bane had to step in to separate the two and de-escalate the situation. With these two incidents, KD’s frustration is clearly boiling over.
And things could get worse following the latest update about his future.

Kevin Durant’s future with the Suns in jeopardy as Veteran Insider gives Shocking update
Last month, Mat Ishbia reportedly attempted to trade Durant to the Warriors to get some future assets in return. Well, the Suns were showing no signs of winning a title anytime soon, and he might have thought it was time to blow things up.
However, KD shut down those trade talks once he found out about them, securing his future with the team at least till the end of this season. But things could change once the season is over.

As per veteran insider Duane Rankin, “Sources informed The Republic the most ideal return on a Durant trade is regaining three first-round picks and a young player as part of a multi-team deal tied to getting under the second apron.”

Yes, a KD trade might be inevitable, as the Suns’ Big Three experiment is not working. So, it would be better to capitalize on his value while Durant is still playing at a high level and get some assets in return to build the franchise’s future.

Although the Suns are not doing well, KD still has an incredible individual year. He’s averaging 26.8 points and over six rebounds. Surely, contending teams would give up a lot to acquire a superstar like him to boost their chances of winning a title. So, a trade this summer seems imminent.
