The recent clash between the Atlanta Hawks and the Chicago Bulls saw tensions rising during the game. Unlike previous matchups this season, this one was limited to members of just one team. With just 1 minute and 47 seconds remaining on the clock, onlookers at the United Center in Chicago caught a glimpse of a frustrated Bogdan Bogdanovic sitting on the bench. A delay was reportedly caused in the game after the player threw a water bottle on the ground in anger. Soon after that, he surprised everyone by getting into a face-to-face confrontation with the Hawks’ head coach Quin Snyder.
Bogdanovic kept pointing at himself and was expressing his feelings in a very disgruntled manner before he was pulled away by his teammates. The altercation probably left many people confused, especially since the Hawks were performing quite well when the same occurred. In fact, as soon as the final buzzer rang out, Bogdanovic’s team marked another win by a score of 113-101.

While the player did not manage to score as well as in his previous two games, he still managed to secure 20 points, 4 rebounds, and 6 assists in his name. Furthermore, he had managed to go 2-2 while making his three-pointers and 6-7 in terms of field goals.
While Bogdanovic’s emotions were running high, Snyder, to his credit, remained relatively calm and did not take up a similar tone against his player. Hawks fans waited for the 31-year-old and the head coach to come out to specify the reason for the intense verbal exchange. It didn’t take them long to do so.

In the aftermath of the game, both Bogdan Bogdanovic and Quin Synder spoke to members of the media. According to reports, the Serbian player did not give a clear reason as to why the altercation between him and his coach took place. However, he did state that it is not the first time that something like this happened and that the incident is not to be taken that seriously. “Quin is my guy, for sure. And, he was pushing me through the whole year” said Bogdanovic.
“We had this like, fights, little fights. It’s normal that happens.” According to Atlanta Journal reporter Lauren L. Williams, he was further quoted as saying, “We are doing this almost every other minute or we are verbally fighting all the time, which is normal. That means we both care and everyone cares.” Snyder also chose the path of peace during his presser.
After praising Bogdan Bogdanovic’s defense, he went on to state that he and the player have no reason to be upset with each other. “Bogi was terrific, and he and I are in a great place,” Snyder said. “So great, I mean better than good, great. And I love how he played as well. He’s defending, which has been a point of pride for him.”
