His father Keith played football at Texas Tech, but unfortunately, his career in sports was cut short by an accident that occurred while moving furniture at his mother’s house. While trying to lift a bed, Keith hit a ceiling fan, which caused it to fall and this resulted in his arm being cut.
Both of his parents have been cheerleaders in Cade’s life! Cade has an older brother, Cannen, who also hooped, and a sister named Kaylyn.
Cade’s father Keith was born and raised in Texas and his mother Carrie is from Michigan, both of which are American states. Hence, Keith and Carrie are American citizens. Notably, Keith is of African-American ethnicity while Carrie is white Caucasian. So, Cade Cunningham is of mixed ethnicity. However, there’s no information about which religion the Pistons guard follows.

Cade Cunningham’s daughter is his motivation, and he does everything for her!
Cade Cunningham became a father while he was still playing his senior year at the Montverde Academy in Florida back in 2018. This was a major factor in him choosing Oklahoma State to play his college basketball, as Cunningham stated in an interview with Forbes, “I was away at Montverde when she was born. Finally being able to be a little bit closer definitely helped. I mean regardless, I know my parents would’ve did whatever it took to close that gap for me but yeah, being a four-hour drive away isn’t too bad for sure.”

Being blessed with his daughter, Riley, changed his perspective on life and he constantly worked to give her the best and told himself regularly, “I have to make this work. I have to do the best in whatever I’m pursuing for her. It changed the way I looked at life, for sure. That made me lock in a little bit more.” Well, he has done what he set out to do for his daughter, but the journey doesn’t end here, as Cade still has a long way to go in his career, and with his family close by his side, he’ll achieve great things.
