The NBA announced the 2024 All-Star Reserves tonight. And there were a lot of surprises in the jam-packed Western Conference selections. While several big names made it to the All-Star team, many elite performers of this season got snubbed in the final selection. The Inside The NBA panel revealed the All-Star Reserves for the West, including Kawhi Leonard, Anthony Davis, Devin Booker, Anthony Edwards, Stephen Curry, Paul George, and Karl-Anthony Towns.

The All-Star snub list was headlined by James Harden, Kyrie Irving, and Victor Wembanyama. LA Clippers guard James Harden got snubbed for the second straight year. The Beard did not make the All-Star team last season despite leading the league in assists. Harden is averaging 17.2 points, 8.5 assists, and 4.9 rebounds and has been a key contributor to the Clippers’ success.

Mavs guard Kyrie Irving also missed this year’s selection, most likely because of the 21 missed games due to injury. Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama was also snubbed from the Reserves list despite leading the league in blocks in his first season. Wemby is averaging 20.6 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 3.2 blocks, but his team is at the bottom of the Western Conference standings.

It also came as a shock to the fans that no one from the Sacramento Kings made this year’s All-Star team. De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis have led the Kings to the 5th spot in the Western Conference with a 27-19 record. And the fans expected at least one of these superstars to get the All-Star honors.

Fox is averaging a whopping 27.2 points, 5.5 assists, and 4.1 rebounds. Sabonis is also having a dominant season, averaging 19.9 points, 13 rebounds, and 8 assists.

Other notable names on the All-Star snub list

Apart from these obvious snubs, several other stars could have made the All-Star team this season. Timberwolves Center Rudy Gobert is having an incredible season. He is the defensive anchor of the Number 1 defensive team in the league. However, Anthony Edwards and KAT got the nod over the 3-time DPOY.

Forward Zion Williamson has also had a huge impact on the success of the Pelicans. He is averaging 22 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 4.7 assists. But Zion has been in and out of the lineup due to an injury that might have hurt his All-Star chances.

Lauri Markkanen is also having a decent season with the Utah Jazz. He is averaging 23.5 points and 8.7 rebounds. However, Jazz’s 24-25 record and Lauri’s recent performances did not work in his favor. There is still a chance that some of these players might make the All-Star team if any player on the current team gets injured.
