From launching their own game show to setting up their charitable foundation, Ayesha and Steph Curry have been setting an example of a power couple. Since tying the knot in 2011, they have navigated professional and personal challenges together. There have been moments such as when the NBA superstar passionately rose in defense of his wife after her comments on Jada Pinkett’s Red Table Talk in 2019 caused a stir. Ayesha has also been a pillar of support for her husband all these years, sharing her excitement as Curry prepared for his 16th NBA season.
The couple has remained in the limelight with Steph continuing his incredible run on the court and Ayesha dipping her toes in multiple ventures ranging from being a restaurateur to an actress and also a founder of Sweet July, a lifestyle brand. While they have seen immense success and embraced the stardom that has come along, they have also had to confront deeply personal and relatable challenges, just like another person.
Ayesha Curry opened up on these challenges and how they are dealing with them in an interview with Haute Beauty. Ayesha was featured as the cover star for their January edition and talked about finding beauty in the smallest of things.

“It could be something as simple as a bubble bath, a glass of wine, and a nice mask when the kids go to bed; having 30 minutes or an hour for some real self-care, which changes the entire narrative for me because I just feel more put together. Or it could be a date night, going out with my husband, where I put on a cute dress and get all glammed up with my winged liner just right, and I’m feeling myself because that never happens,” she said before diving into the reality of life that has come to terms with.
“But I also feel like you can find beauty in sadness, too,” Ayesha Curry shared, capturing the truth about life’s duality. “We’re at a point in our lives, my husband and I, where we’re losing a lot of our elders, and life is looking a bit different,” she added. However, to Ayesha, this ordeal in itself is enough for her to reflect and cherish many moments of life that we may take for granted.
She mentioned, “It’s a sad but beautiful realization that nothing truly lasts forever, and so, we’re really embracing moments and loving people as much as we can while they’re here. And that, to me, just remembering those small moments, those people that you interact with and touch every day, can be beautiful.”
Her words are reflected in the work she and her husband do in the community. They are the co-founders of the charity, Eat.Learn.Play and have made continuous efforts to address the literacy gap among children in Oakland’s underserved communities. In September last year, they announced a five-year, $25 million commitment to the cause.
The pair also continues to stand strong for each other. Before the start of the NBA season, the Warriors shared a post capturing highlights and moments from the previous season featuring Stephen Curry. Ayesha reshared the post on her IG story and wrote, “Let’s goooooooooo my baby! God is good! So proud of you.” The 4x NBA champion has reciprocated the same love and support on several occasions.
In 2019, Ayesha faced backlash after saying that she felt self-doubt during her marriage to a star like Stephen on Jada Pinkett’s Red Table Talk. She mentioned how her husband gets female attention all the time which made her a little insecure about herself. She said she doesn’t want male attention, but “it would be nice to know that someone’s looking.”
Despite the criticism that flooded her way, Steph Curry responded by posting a photo of him and his wife on his Instagram Story and writing, “Proud of you for being authentic and putting yourself out there- not being afraid of the potential bulls–t and nonsense that could and did come at you. Way more positive than negative with all of this. Keep being you. I love you.”
While Ayesha and Steph continue to grow emotionally in life, there’s another avenue that has Ayesha’s attention.
Ayesha Curry expands her empire, delves into another venture
Apart from being a television host and best-selling author, Ayesha Curry is also the brain behind Sweet July, an enterprise consisting of Sweet July Productions, café-retail destinations in Oakland and Santa Monica, Sweet July Skin and Sweet July Books.
Ayesha Curry is expanding her empire once again, this time by diving into the world of publishing. The 35-year-old chef, author, and mom of four have launched Sweet July Books, an imprint focused on celebrating diverse voices. The first release, Honeysuckle and Bone by Trisha Tobias brings a supernatural twist to coming-of-age storytelling. The novel follows Carina, an 18-year-old who moves to Jamaica to nanny for a wealthy family, only to uncover dark secrets.
Trisha, who joined Ayesha on CBS Mornings, revealed the heart of the story: “I wanted to show readers, especially young ones, that no mistake is too big to overcome as long as you own it and move forward with better choices,” she shared.
Ayesha, who has Jamaican roots herself, connected deeply with the book’s cultural richness. “Trisha’s an amazing author, and the biggest connection we share is our Jamaican background,” Ayesha explained. “This story is full of culture, from the setting to the food. That really drew me in.”

The novel packs mystery, betrayal, and love, with Tobias crediting her Jamaican mother for infusing authenticity. She includes references to local dishes like coco bread and beef patties.
Ayesha hopes Honeysuckle and Bone will inspire young adults to embrace meaningful stories. Meanwhile, juggling four kids (from 8 months to 12 years old), she joked about life after three kids: “I didn’t believe people when they said it doesn’t make much of a difference!”
