Well, the Knicks continued their preseason winning streak tonight. But unlike Tom Thibodeau’s usual strategy of overexerting his stars, Jalen Brunson and other starters got a rare rest day against the Hornets as they watched from the bench. Sure enough, they had some fun on their off day as JB hilariously trolled his teammate Josh Hart on the sidelines, resulting in a playful warning from the shooting guard after the game. All while the latter seemingly enjoyed Aaron Judge’s highly awaited playoff ‘homer’ boost.
In a video that is going viral, Brunson walks up to Hart, who is sitting on the bench enjoying his snack during the game. Looking straight at the camera, JB sneakily steals one of his teammate’s Mike and Ikes from the cup and proceeds to eat it while trying to control his laughter. However, Josh didn’t seem too bothered or didn’t even realize what Brunson had done at the time.
But Josh issued a warning to the hooper after watching the video, “He takes my Mike and Ike’s again and we fighting.” Obviously, everyone knows how much Hart loves his Mike and Ikes. So, how did Aaron Judge fit into all of this?

Fans also noticed that Josh Hart was wearing a Yankees cap in support of the New York-based franchise as they faced the Guardians tonight. Sure enough, the support paid off as Aaron Judge, who had been quiet throughout the playoffs, finally hit his first homer of the postseason in an epic performance. And the hooper was left in awe of the former MVP and tweeted, “JUDGE!!!!!”
While the Yankees’ journey has been smooth sailing so far, Judge wasn’t performing at the level fans are used to seeing him. It had been 9 games since he last hit a home run in the postseason. But he was finally able to dig himself out of that hole tonight as he helped the Yankees take a 2-0 lead in the ALCS. Although Hart was ecstatic after Judge’s heroics, he could not let Brunson’s sneaky act slide.
Josh Hart and his undying love for Mike and Ikes that got him a ‘dream’ collaboration!
If you have been following Josh Hart during his Knicks tenure, his protective nature for Mike and Ikes should not come as a surprise. Earlier this year, he even took out a box of Mike and Ikes in the middle of a post-game press conference, which left everyone in splits. He took the craziness a notch higher by tossing one to a reporter, sometime after saying, “Mike and Ike, baby!” Hart even revealed his big dream in a tweet after the incident, “Hopefully one day I’ll get a deal with Mike and Ike and get my face on a box lol.”
Surprisingly, the brand heard his wish and released custom boxes with his face on the packaging. “My dream has come true! @mikeandike big things coming.” The Knicks star tweeted after the big collaboration with his favorite brand.
As it turns out, the hooper has had this obsession for many years. During a recent podcast, his Villanova coach Jay Wright exposed Josh Hart’s unusual habit, “I was taking candy out of his locker room before the start of a game… He eats Mike and Ikes right before games.” So, while his warning to JB might’ve been a joke, he would likely prefer to enjoy his box of Mike and Ikes without sharing.
