Draymond Green missed the entire preseason because of an injury. After 2 games into the regular season, he had his debut against the Houston Rockets and did not miss a beat in terms of his rhythm and production. The 4-time champ is in the starting 5 against the Pelicans and shared a special moment with the New Orleans Saints superstar quarterback Derek Carr.
The Pelicans are going into this game with a 2-0 record. And they hope to build on this positivity and momentum. But will Stephen Curry and Co play spoil sport?

Derek Carr, who has played 9 seasons for the Raiders, is playing his first season as a New Orleans Saint. This year he has joined his rookie season head coach Dennis Allen. The Las Vegas Raiders, who were formerly known as the Oakland Raiders, played in Oakland til the year 2019. The Golden State Warriors also played in the same location till 2019. Draymond Green and Derek Carr must have shared a great camaraderie since their Oakland days. The same was reflected in the below video as they caught up in New Orleans.

Derek Carr has helped his team break the 2 game losing streak with the win against the Colts, where in he threw for 310 yards and 2 touchdowns. Draymond was probably commending him for that as they shared a hug. No doubt Carr was there to support his buddy as the Warriors hoped to move to a 3-1 record after a disappointing opening-day loss.

The fully healthy Pelicans roster has had a great start to the season. However, the injury bug has bitten them again, as Brandon Ingram sits out against the Warriors due to knee soreness. Meanwhile, Zion Williamson, who has been at the receiving end of everyone’s criticism, looks healthy and motivated. And has had brilliant performances for this New Orleans team. He is averaging 23.5 points, 6 rebounds, and 2.5 assists with a 61.8% field goal percentage. If he persists on this path and remains healthy, the New Orleans Pelicans will be one of the top playoff contenders this season.
Brandon Ingram, who has been struggling with injuries for a couple of seasons, is the second superstar for the New Orleans team. His absence was palpable in the game against the Warriors, where the Dubs dominated the Pelicans right from the starting minutes of the game. Willie Green needs to figure out ways to keep his two superstars healthy. If not, just like last year, this season will end up in disappointment too.
