The NBA couple Steph and Ayesh have three children: daughters Riley and Ryan, and son Canon. She has recently discussed her postpartum depression and labor struggles. With every labor, there has been a challenge and fear. With their first daughter, she struggled with the nervousness and anxiety of being a mother. Ayesha has been candid about her journey to motherhood which was full of unexpected challenges. Their ‘world was going to crumble’ as the second daughter had jaundice when she was born.

The birth of Canon coincided with Steph Curry’s championship victory. Ayesha reveals that her ‘cutest’ baby’s birth tested her physical and emotional strength. She was in labor for five days.

Ayesha got real while discussing her ‘cutest’ kid, Canon

In the podcast “Because Life”, Ayesha shared her experience giving birth to Canon. She revealed she was in labor for five straight days and that doctors were concerned about Canon’s size. They told her he was measuring okay, but that he was going to be small. “I was in labor for five days. So basically what they were saying is Canon’s measuring okay, but he is gonna be small”.

At one point, it got to a point where they had to get her to the hospital and she had to sit in positions to ease the pain. Ayesha says, “They were like, okay, we are gonna admit you to speed up your labor. So I sat in that position in the hospital for a couple of days.” She spent those days in the hospital, praying and meditating. She said that she felt like she was doing more harm to Canon by sitting and stressing and that she wanted him to be born so that she could physically take care of him.

The following day, around 6 a.m., Canon was born. Doctors had been scared that he would be only 4-5 pounds, but he came out at 6-7 pounds, Ayesha recalls.

Ayesha’s story is a powerful reminder of the strength and resilience of mothers. Despite the stress and uncertainty of her labor, Ayesha remained strong and focused on bringing her son into the world safely.
