The Golden State Warriors have just 13 more games remaining in the NBA regular season. Given that the team is currently placed as the 10 seed on the Western Conference Points table, they will need to make a significant push in order to secure a majority of the wins and further a spot in the playoff series. This would involve ensuring that each player on Stephen Curry‘s roster is in a healthy condition and fit enough to put out his best performance. Luckily, there seems to be some good news on that front.

A few hours ahead of the game, ‘The Athletic’ journalist Anthony Slater took to his official X account to highlight the recently released Injury Report for the Warriors. The team is set to face off against the Minnesota Timberwolves within the next few hours at the Target Center in Minneapolis. The Timberwolves currently occupy a win-loss record of 48-22, compared to the Warriors’ disappointing 38-33.

Slater’s news, however, works in favor of the latter team, as he highlighted the “Empty injury report for the Warriors tomorrow in Minnesota. Everyone available to open the five-game road trip. Anthony Edwards and Rudy Gobert listed as questionable for Timberwolves. Edwards (finger dislocation) has been questionable but playing since that big dunk.”

The recent Injury Report marks the first time in a long time that no player from GSW has been listed even as ‘probable’ or ‘questionable’. The availability of star players like Stephen Curry and Draymond Green, who had to previously opt out of a few games due to separate injuries, will allow the franchise to put out a great offensive play.

On the other hand, the chances of availability for the Timberwolves’ best and third-best average scorers seem to be at 50-50 odds. Anthony Edwards had earlier been considered out of the main lineup after dislocating his finger during the recent clash against the Utah Jaaz. Just as Slater highlighted, however, the player still ended up making the next game against the Denver Nuggets and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Rudy Gobert has been suffering from a left rib sprain for quite some time now, causing him to miss three previous games. Even though he returned during the game against the Cavaliers, he only ended up scoring 9 points in 37 minutes. Therefore, the decision to place the player on the court may end up being determined by whether the player’s offensive play is worth the risk of worsening his rib soreness.

Why is Anthony Edwards and Rudy Gobert’s availability required during the Warriors clash?

Both Anthony Edwards and Rudy Gobert have delivered outstanding performances this season. While the former has secured an average of 26.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.1 assists this season, the latter has scored 13.6 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks. Along with making a significant points contribution, Gobert has also been instrumental in putting up a strong defense for the team.

The duo has helped the Timberwolves maintain its high seed in the absence of Karl-Anthony Towns. Edwards’ points haven’t gone below 30 during his last 4 games, while Gobert’s rebounds have continued to be in the double digits. Looking at the momentum that they have created, it would be tough to lose them during this crucial stage of the regular season, especially when going against someone like Stephen Curry.
