The Golden State Warriors are hoping to win another title this season and elongate the reign of their dominant dynasty. The Warriors core of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green are in the later stages of their careers, and they want to seize this opportunity before the Championship window closes for them. To increase their chances of winning a title, the Warriors added Point God Chris Paul to their roster this summer.

The addition of Chris Paul might have unlocked the Warriors’ “Ultimate Load Management” strategy for the season.

The Warriors have found a cheat code

Stephen Curry and co. have managed to start the season with a winning record despite their aging roster. A major reason for the Warriors’ success has been the emergence of their 2nd unit, which is being led by Chris Paul. “The ultimate load management for the Warriors this season is the emergence of the 2nd unit led by Chris Paul. The ability to rest Curry, Klay, and Draymond while leads are maintained / increased as well less energy expended to erase deficits upon re-entering the game will be huge,” Dr. Nirav Pandya, injury analyst for 95.7 The Game, pointed out on X.

Chris Paul came off the bench for the first time in his 19-year career against the Houston Rockets in October. Since then, CP3 has adapted to his new role as the leader of the Warriors’ second unit. And the Warriors have been thriving in this new setting. Chris Paul has made the Warriors bench one of the most efficient second units in the league. His leading the charge also gives Steph, Klay, and Draymond time to rest without their team losing a significant lead in their absence. That is the best-case scenario for the Warriors, and this might be the “Ultimate Load Management” cheat code for them.

Golden State Warriors will escape the Load Management penalty

The NBA front office made some major changes to the old Player Resting Policy in September. To curb the league’s load management problem, the NBA decided to penalize the teams that rest their superstars despite them being completely healthy. According to the new policy, uninjured superstars cannot miss any nationally televised games, and a team with two or more superstars will have to play at least one superstar if they are healthy. Violating the policy can lead to the team getting fined over $1 million.

But Chris Paul’s new role has given the Warriors a loophole in the policy. Now, they can rest their superstars without them having to miss games. Steph, Klay, and Draymond can just play fewer minutes as CP3 runs the show for them. This strategy will keep the Warriors healthy throughout the season, and they can make a run for the Championship.
