Jimmy Butler had two options. It was either to sit tight and end the career with the Miami Heat or take the highway. He chose the latter and now he has found himself entangled in trade drama, locking horns with Pat Riley. Moreover, the 35-year-old’s trade destination looks bleak amid his legal tussle with the Heat President. Amid this turmoil, Warriors star Draymond Green predicted two possible outcomes in Butler’s fight with Riley.

A few days ago, Butler candidly said, “I want to see me get my joy back from playing basketball, wherever that may be.” And, most importantly, he stressed that he won’t “probably” find it with the Heat. The star forward seemed to have suffered in silence before letting out in public.

Moreover, the star’s lack of joy seems to be contagious, as it has engulfed the Heat locker room despite his absence, as per Ira Winderman. The leading reporter even cited the team’s blowout loss against the Jazz as a direct example of it. Anyway, moving on to possible outcomes.

Green, in the latest episode of his podcast, featuring Baron Davis, went into detail about Jimmy Butler’s unfortunate situation and predicted the outcomes. Before making his prediction, Draymond Green hinted that it was based on Pat Riley, saying“I think Pat Riley is Pat Riley like in y’all have all heard the stories of who Pat Riley is and how Pat Riley.”

He continued, “I can see Pat Riley sending Jimmy Butler to a team an organization that he absolutely hate, that’s garbage I could also see Pat Riley saying hey go home for the rest of the year just go home pay you it’s fine go home we’re not trading you anywhere.”

Either way, looking at the way things panning out for Butler, it isn’t a grand sight.

Jimmy Butler and the dark road ahead

In contrast with Draymond Green’s take, the Heat said, “Jimmy Butler and his representative have indicated that they wish to be traded, therefore, we will listen to offers,” in a statement after the candid press meet. However, the road ahead of Jimmy Butler isn’t an easy one.

Firstly, the Phoenix Suns emerged as the frontrunner for trading the star exchanging Bradley Beal, who almost has the same annual pay. But there is a twist.

Even if the Suns wish to do it, they can’t entirely do it without Beal’s nod, as the star holds the power card: the No-trade clause.

Adding to that, Beal recently dropped a hammer when he was asked about the Butler trade. He said, “If so, I need to be addressed because I hold the cards. Until I’m addressed and somebody says something different, then I’ll be a Sun.” So, we can say that Butler has found himself in a tough spot, unable to attract trades.

One of the main reasons is the star’s average annual salary of nearly $50 million. And, his current contract runs till the 2025-26 season. Will Butler find his way out of this entanglement? Let us know in the comments.
