Over the last few hours, we saw blockbuster trades happening across the NBA, left, right, and center. But the trade wind doesn’t seem to move in the direction of the Bay Area. Ironically, the Golden State Warriors engaged in multiple trade deals, sending in and out multiple players since the 2024 offseason. Yet, the team finds itself amidst a disastrous run and is still desperate to make a move before the deadline. With only three days remaining, the Sacramento Kings crush the Dubs’ last resort.

You must be wondering, why the Kings? While they did rope in one of the Warriors’ trade targets, Zach LaVine, the SacTown followed it with a knockout punch. The team traded in the Dubs’ long-time trade target, Zach LaVine, in a blockbuster deal, sending De’Aaron Fox to the Spurs. Now, you may wonder why the Dubs don’t pursue their other trade targets. Well, they did.

Over the last 72 hours, the Warriors pursued various teams, hoping to bring in some support for Stephen Curry. Notably, following the Luka Doncic trade, reports suggest that there were speculations surrounding the possibility of trading LeBron James to the Bay Area. Apparently, Bron decided to stay with the Lakers, as per Brett Siegel, NBA Insider.

With all their pursuits going wrong, how can the Kings end the Warriors’ final hope? Here’s how? So, according to Evan Sidery, the Sacramento side is not done yet, despite roping in Zach LaVine. The renowned analyst indicated that the Kings are now equipped with the necessary draft capital and picks to acquire Brooklyn Nets’ Cameron Johnson.

Cam Johnson was none other than the trade target that the Warriors actively pursued during these last weeks. The Dubs couldn’t pierce through the Nets’ demand as they were asking for Jonathan Kuminga and future picks. Now, that road may also be closed.

What are the other targets that Stephen Curry & Co. missed?

Are the Warriors' trade blunders a sign of poor management or just bad luck this season?

Have an interesting take?

A few days ago, Stephen Curry stressed that the Dubs weren’t desperate to make moves. Most importantly, he didn’t want to mortgage the team’s future. However, the recent trade rumors suggest something else. After a 12-3 start to the season, the Warriors have gone down to the 11th spot with a 24-24 record. Now that they look to resurrect the team mid-season, all the doors are closed.

We all are aware of the Jimmy Butler trade drama. The Dubs had a tab open on him as well. Above all, the trade became achievable after a report suggested that the Heat were desperate to trade him before the deadline for a lesser price. However, last night, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reported that Butler communicated that he wasn’t willing to sign a long-term extension and ended the negotiation.

Moreover, the Dubs have also approached the Suns regarding Kevin Durant. Guess what? The Valley side declined it. So, the Warriors are doing everything in their power to help Stephen Curry. However, the team still has an option. Brandon Ingram, who has been out with an injury, has been on the trade block for quite some time. Maybe Mike Dunleavy could bring an offense-dominant front-court player to the mix. What do you think? Let us know in the comments.
