With the Olympics less than two weeks away, Team USA continues to build team cohesion through their exhibition games. Steph Curry and Anthony Edwards have been the highlight of the three games so far. Not only that, but the Splash Brother is responsible for the most crucial runs for Team USA. He dropped 24 points in the dominating win over Serbia in Abu Dhabi. However, as he packs his bag gearing up for Paris, he has some support coming from his young teammate.
While most of the players would either spend the summer preparing for the next season or just resting, Brandin Podziemski has different plans. The 21-year-old has planned to visit Europe with his pals, witnessing the 2024 Olympics in full glory. “Yeah, me and my homies are gonna go to London and Paris, see some of the Olympics stuff. That’d be pretty fun. I’m excited to do that.”
“I am going to try and see as much as I can. I’ve never been to an Olympics of any sort,” said Podz during the Cavs-Warriors Summer League game. It will be interesting to see young Brandin cheer up Steph Curry and Coach Kerr while supporting Team USA on his summer trip. Not only that, but the 21-year-old also deserves to go on a vacation after a great rookie season.

Podz put up 9.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.7 assists while shooting over 38% from deep. He also ranked fifth in the Rookie of the Year standings. Brandin is one of the best young assets the Warriors have alongside Kuminga. Not only that but Podziemski and Steph have already built great chemistry on the floor.
The two share the ball quite well, becoming a serious threat from beyond the arc. In the long run, he can become the leading scorer, continuing the Dubs dynasty, mentored by Steph. Of course, he’s quite young and will get more experienced over time, but his name is being noticed by many around the league. Each team that is willing to trade with the Warriors wants Brandin’s name on the table.
The Warriors stand at a crossroads, with Steph Curry and Green in the Bay Area, who steps in Klay’s boots?
What’s your perspective on:
Is Brandin Podziemski the Warriors' secret weapon in Paris, or just a cheerleader for Steph Curry?
Have an interesting take?
Well, the shooting guard has been the highlight of the Dubs’ supporting cast and is also one player that teams are targeting. No, Podz is not a free agent, but as the Warriors try to bring in Lauri Markkanen, the Santa Clara product’s name has been the focal point for the Jazz’s negotiating. While that is something the Warriors will look to keep away from their attention, as they look to secure JK and Podz for the long term. After Klay’s exit, the Bay Area is left with Steph and Green in need of additional help.
The Dubs need as many useful assets and a star player to help them become a contender in the West again. But how will this be possible? It seems as if the Jazz won’t budge unless they’re offered Poziemski. However, if that doesn’t work out, the Dubs will have to look elsewhere to find a credible player. It will be interesting to see if the Warriors land Markkanen at the end of this summer, but at what cost, remains to be seen. What are your thoughts on Podz? Do you think the franchise should give him away for Markkanen?
