Last night’s Lakers clash took a lot out of the Warriors. With LeBron James and Co. in incredible form, it took a historic 37-point performance from Stephen Curry to save the day. But there were some setbacks—Steph took a nasty fall that re-aggravated his pelvic contusion and Jimmy Butler hurt his forearm during a play. Although both superstars were able to finish the game, the injury scare raised major concerns about their availability for tonight’s crucial Nuggets encounter. But the Bay Area team’s last-minute decision has cleared all doubts.
Well, Steph and Jimmy were initially listed questionable on the injury report. However, the latest update reveals that the superstar duo has been upgraded to available as a last-minute change and will suit up tonight. Steph even participated in the pregame warmup.
Of course, that’s a huge boost for the Warriors because Steph and Butler are their two best players. Still going strong at age 37, Curry is averaging 24.6 points and over six assists this year. Meanwhile, Jimmy has averaged 17.3 points and six assists since the trade, providing the Warriors with some lethal interior offense. Moreover, their availability shows that the injury is not bothering them.

Even after last night’s game, Jimmy was optimistic about his health, “It’s part of the game. Got nicked up a little bit. I hope that I’m going to be alright; we’ll see tomorrow.” He also highlighted that a lot of players are playing hurt at this stage in the season but that has not affected their focus, “Knowing why you do what you do, that’s to win and go out there and compete with our guys. You see Steph banged up and he’s going out there and doing it, everybody’s banged up at this time of year.” Looks like their motivation to book a playoff seed is much higher than the pain they are playing through.
Warriors gets another boost as key player joins Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler in positive update
Well, Steve Kerr’s squad has been dealing with injuries for majority of the season. With several ageing players on the roster, health is a key concern. But for the first time in very long, they are finally back at complete strength. Yes, along with Steph and Jimmy, Gary Payton II will also make a comeback tonight after missing four straight games due to a ligament tear in his left thumb.

With Curry and Butler back, are the Warriors unstoppable, or do the Nuggets stand a chance?
Have an interesting take?
Although not a superstar like the two, GP II has been a key contributor for the Warriors, averaging 6.6 points and three rebounds. But where he makes the most impact is his defense. Despite his small frame, Payton usually guards the toughest assignments during crunch time. And his return could help the Warriors beat Nikola Jokic and Co. tonight and secure back-to-back wins against higher seeded teams.
A victory tonight will tie them in total wins with the Lakers, which could prove crucial in the final playoff seedings. Do you think the Warriors can beat the Nuggets with health finally on their side?
