The NBA, just like any other sports league out there, is filled with players who share either an on-court rivalry or just a difference of opinion with their counterparts. For quite some time now, fans of the Golden State Warriors have felt a similar difference of opinion exists between 29-year-old Andrew Wiggins and rookie Brandin Podziemski. However, even if something like that exists, it may have been disproven by the release of a new video.

On the 22nd, the official X account of the Golden State Warriors uploaded a clip. Captioned “JUST US,” the post featured various members from the roster engaged in a huddle outside of the basketball court, grooving with each other. Fans were able to get a glimpse of a wholesome moment as Brandin Podziemski was seen jumping up on a smiling Andrew Wiggins. If one wasn’t aware of the issues that occurred between them in the past, they would assume the duo to be the best of friends.

Podziemski was selected as the 19 overall pick by the Warriors during the 2023 NBA draft. Ever since his arrival, he has been putting up a couple of memorable performances and reportedly possessing a huge sense of confidence during his on-court minutes. According to Steve Kerr, however, that same confidence “drives some of the veterans crazy sometimes, because a rookie isn’t supposed to behave that way.” If one needs an example of that, then all they need to do is watch the altercations between him and Wiggins.

Andrew Wiggins and Brandin Podziemski shared a not-so-pleasant exchange

Fans who have been following each Warriors game since the beginning of the season might have seen the existence of an on-court tension between the veteran and a rookie. If not, then it would definitely have been hard for them to miss out the one that took place when the team took on the San Antonio Spurs early in March.

With Stephen Curry being out of the game due to an ankle injury, it was up to the two players to make a worthwhile contribution to the offensive front. During the 2 quarter, as the Spurs led by 2 points, Wiggins was seen taking the ball in his possession and dashing to the other side of the court. Even as Podziemski was in the open, the small forward ignored him and proceeded to score by himself. A ‘leaked’ audio from the game showed the rookie then calling out Wiggins for his decision to not pass the ball. The latter instantly hit back by replying “The f**k are you talking about, n***a?”

Even though the Warriors won the game by 10 points, the on-court altercation may have ended up stealing the spotlight from the win.
