According to the latest injury report by the Golden State Warriors, Draymond Green will not suit up against the Toronto Raptors tomorrow. His status has been changed from “league suspension” to “return to play conditioning”. Draymond has not played for almost a month, and the Warriors would want to get him in game shape before putting him back on the floor. Even though Draymond has been working out throughout his suspension, not getting him back in the lineup immediately might be a wise decision by Golden State. The Warriors went 7-5 in Draymond’s absence, and they have found a rotation that works in their favor. Head coach Steve Kerr might need to make some adjustments before putting Green back in the rotation.

Apart from the update on Draymond, Warriors’ 21-year-old Forward Jonathan Kuminga’s status for tomorrow’s game is questionable. He is suffering from a toe strain that could cause him to miss tomorrow’s game. Kuminga was reportedly frustrated by his playing time against the Denver Nuggets in Thursday’s game.

He scored 16 points in 19 minutes but was benched by Kerr in the final minutes. The Warriors blew an 18-point lead and lost to Nikola Jokić and Co.

Are the Warriors underutilizing Jonathan Kuminga?

Steve Kerr addressed the reports of Kuminga’s frustration and claimed that he played in the NBA for 15 years and was frustrated in all of them. That is just a part of the game, and players have to deal with it throughout their careers. After showing frustration with his reduced playing time on Thursday, Kuminga played a game-high 36 minutes against the Detroit Pistons. He finished with 11 points and 6 rebounds. Despite the limited playing time, Kuminga has shown massive improvement each season. He is averaging 12.8 points and 4.1 rebounds this season, playing 22.5 minutes per game.

The Warriors might be underutilizing Kuminga’s talent to give way to veteran superstars. Kuminga is a talented 21-year-old player who could be the future of the Warriors franchise. Instead, he has constantly been rumored to get traded for Pascal Siakam and Zach LaVine. Steve Kerr might need to give more playing time to Kuminga, as that can take the scoring load off aging superstars like Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Chris Paul.
