The Dubs continue to suffer as Draymond Green falls in trouble. The star power forward returned to the floor after missing three straight games. Moreover, the team had listed him out for tonight’s game against the Washington Wizards, citing illness. Surprisingly, the 4x NBA Champ laced up and started the game for the Warriors. However, it didn’t last longer, as the star defender walked into the locker room three minutes into the game.
Three minutes after tip-off, the Dubs looked great, scoring five quick points, and suddenly, Coach Steve Kerr called a timeout. While it seemed like Kerr opted for it for strategic reasons, it ended up being Green’s quick doorway to the locker room. Immediately after the timeout, Gui Santos checked in, replacing the star.
Looking at that, the NBC’s broadcaster said, “Gui Santos has to check in. Draymond Green went right to the locker room and did not look good. You don’t want to see that… He wasn’t moving well.” Later, a visual of Draymond Green limping into the locker room surfaced on the internet. Even though it was unfortunate to witness Green walk off the court, there was a positive sign. At least, it looked like it at that time. The 34-year-old didn’t need any assistance to head to the locker room. It hinted that the star might return later in the game.

However, minutes after Green checked out, the team officially announced that he was ruled out for the rest of the game with left calf tightness. The star has missed 7 games so far in the season and he also had a risk of missing out on a major chunk of games, as he felt the same symptoms of a lower back injury that kept him out for 26 games in the 2021-22 season. Fortunately, he evaded it and hopefully, he would return soon from the calf tightness too.

Draymond Green’s absence deepens Dubs’ new frontcourt woes
In the initial stages of this season, Coach Steve Kerr flexed the team’s deep roster. The star had endless options for every possible role. He had a specialist shooter, a playmaker, dominant paint players, two traditional big men, and a reliable bench. It looked like the Warriors had the recipe for another ring.
However, everything came crashing down, starting with De’Anthony Melton’s season-ending injury. Following that, the team couldn’t quite find the right mix. Now, they have found themselves in a tricky spot, struggling to find players for the power forward position. The team has three players for that role. DrayMagic, Jonathan Kuminga and Kyle Anderson.

All three of them suffer from different injuries. Firstly, Kuminga walked away with an ankle injury and he was far from returning to the court. Green and Anderson have calf and hamstring injuries, respectively. So, as of now, Kerr has been managing his business with Gui Santos, who also received his first career start in the process. Will Green’s absence affect the game’s result tonight? What do you think? Let us know in the comments.
