“Unfortunately, they are just at the age and at the stage of their careers with so much wear and tear that no matter how you slice it, they’re gonna miss some games.” Steve Kerr has accepted the harsh reality of Draymond Green and Stephen Curry’s situation. The Warriors are being extremely cautious in working through their lingering injury concerns. That’s why, as they prepare to face the Wolves tonight, they might have to do it without the former DPOY.
Yes, Green is questionable to suit up. The reason? An illness that forced him to miss the last two games. And he could miss another one tonight. That would be a massive blow to the team because Draymond has been in solid form, averaging 8.7 points and over six rebounds. But we all know that his impact goes far beyond his numbers as he is also the team’s vocal leader and defensive anchor.
Plus, he is not the only Warriors member at risk of missing the game. Trayce Jackson-Davis and Kyle Anderson are also questionable. Well, Jackson sprained his thumb and was forced to leave Monday’s Raptors game. And the injury could force him out tonight as well. Meanwhile, Slo Mo is dealing with a hamstring injury.

Adding to the concerns, Jonathan Kuminga and Brandin Podziemski will remain out. Obviously, Podz has been recovering from an abdominal strain since last month and although he has started running at full speed, he is yet to reach game shape. Kuminga is still working on his ankle sprain and will probably be reevaluated next week for further updates. Fortunately, the one silver lining amid these injury concerns is that Gary Payton II has been upgraded to probable. Yes, he could return tonight following a ten-game hiatus due to a calf strain. Surely, this will give the Bay Area franchise some hope against Anthony Edwards and Co.
Warriors and Timberwolves’ Depth Chart
With Draymond’s availability uncertain, this is what the Warriors’ depth chart looks like:
Position | Starters | 2nd | 3rd |
PG | Stephen Curry | Lindy Waters III | Pat Spencer |
SG | Dennis Schroder | Buddy Hield | Gary Payton II (P) |
SF | Andrew Wiggins | Moses Moody | Gui Santos |
PF | Draymond Green (Q) | Kyle Anderson (Q) | Quinten Post |
C | Trayce Jackson-Davis (Q) | Kevon Looney |
If the former DPOY sits out, Trayce and Lindy Waters are likely to see a significant increase in playing time like the last two games. Meanwhile, the scoring load will fall on Steph’s shoulders due to Kuminga and Brandin’s absence.

Yes, the only entry on their injury report is Terrence Shannon Jr. who is out for two to four weeks with a Grade 2 mid-foot sprain. So, expect Anthony Edwards and Co. to come out all guns blazing, aiming to add another win to their column.
Well, tonight will mark both teams’ fourth meeting this season. Heading into the game, the Warriors hold a 2-1 lead and the Wolves would hope to even the season series, especially with so many stars injured on the opposing roster. Whose side are you on?
