Gregg Popovich lifted the restrictions on Victor Wembanyama. The 20-year-old baller has had a tough time ever since he started playing in the league. Wemby came into the league with heights of expectations. Even though he lived up to it, his teammate couldn’t make use of his talent to produce wins. On top of it, the San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich restricted his playing time to under 28 minutes, citing his ankle issue.

While the ankle issue was a major reason for the decision, it also prevented him from displaying his full potential. Nevertheless, it all seemed to have come to an end, as Popovich has reportedly lifted the restriction ahead of tonight’s clash against the Los Angeles Lakers.

On top of it, he also made an important decision, considering the protection of the 7 ‘4 baller. Popovich said, “He’s got a minutes restriction and he can’t play back-to-backs for a couple of weeks until they take another picture and check out his foot again.”

Notably, the Spurs had three back-to-back games in the month of January and the star coach put him on the bench, in order keep him in good health throughout the season.
