Talking trash to LeBron James isn’t the brightest idea. A highly motivated and charged LeBron is the last thing opposing players want to deal with. And his youngest son, Bryce, found that out the hard way recently. In a video that has taken social media by storm, LeBron can be seen hooping with Bryce in his home’s backyard. While it starts off as a fun game, Bryce begins to taunt LeBron, a move he soon regrets.
Bryce recently shared a video on his official Instagram account showing him competing against LeBron James in a shooting contest. In the video, Bryce can be heard taunting LeBron by saying, “You suck,” and “trash.” However, this didn’t affect King James’ impeccable shooting form, as he swished all his shots. James raised the steaks by shooting from further away from the basket. Remaining unfazed further along, The L-Train successfully made all his shots before declaring himself as the “GOAT.”

This isn’t the first time that LeBron James has humbled one of his sons. Bronny, Bryce, and LeBron regularly engage in shooting competitions in the driveway of their LA mansion. Both Bryce and Bronny document these friendly but competitive competitions by regularly posting them on the internet. In one instance approximately four years ago, Bronny jokingly even stated that Stephen Curry was his father after sinking a no-look three-pointer.
Although Bronny and Bryce have talked trash to LeBron, he didn’t go hard on them. However, the same can’t be said about his exploits in the NBA. There have been several instances in which talking trash to LeBron James has backfired. James has a knack for making his adversaries regret those moments on the court.

Many players like Lance Stephenson, Patrick Beverly, and Dillon Brooks have found success in the NBA by getting under the skin of opposing star players. This skill has become a cornerstone of their careers. However, their attempts to get under LeBron’s skin weren’t as successful. Last season, Brooks infamously called LeBron “old,” before the Grizzlies first-round matchup against the Lakers. As a result, LeBron led the Lakers to a series victory over the 2nd-seeded Grizzlies.

During the 2016 NBA Finals, Klay Thompson remarked in a post-match press conference that LeBron James seemed to have “his feelings hurt” after the Warriors secured a 3-1 series lead over the Cavaliers. James scoffed at Klay’s suggestion and proceeded to orchestrate a remarkable turnaround, guiding the Cavaliers to their first NBA championship in franchise history.
It’s never a good idea to talk trash or instigate generational players like LeBron James. It can more often than not backfire on opposing teams and get him going. What are your thoughts? Should players talk trash to LeBron James or not? Let us know in the comments below!
