Bronny James’ college stats did little to quiet doubts: He averaged 4.8 points and 2.1 assists per game, shooting 36.6% from the field, 26% from three, and 68% from the free-throw line. These numbers were far from impressive, and so when Bronny and LeBron James became the first father-son duo to play together in the history of the NBA, the 20-year-old has faced quite a lot of criticism for his skills; Stephen A. Smith has been one of his critics, though Smith made sure to wish him well after a brilliant performance against the Milwaukee Bucks. But on the other hand, Bryce might be the one showing more promise early on.

Bryce’s future just shows more potential due to his present. That’s aided by him winning the state championship aged 17 with Sierra Canyon School in Los Angeles. On top of that, he committed to play for the Wildcats earlier this year, as a part of their 2025 class. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. There’s more!

You see, LeBron James was on ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ where he talked about his children. He stated: “My kids all play sports, two basketball players, my youngest son going to Arizona on a full ride.” Yes, the father just confirmed Bryce received a full scholarship!

And according to US Sports Scholarships’ website“A 100% scholarship or ‘full ride’ covers the costs of tuition and fees, room and board, and textbooks, leaving only incidental costs to pay for the student-athlete. In this case, 100% of the costs are covered and it can be worth up to a staggering $400,000 over four years.” This means that the King could be saving a bucket load of money, for an ROI that could see his talented younger son also play in the league. It doesn’t really make much of a difference considering the King was the first ever billionaire in the sport (as an active player).

This might overshadow Bronny’s achievements in his career. The media might make it look like he’ll be playing with a giant chip on his shoulder. Yes, I’m looking at you, Stephen A. Smith. But that big brother mentality will kick in. When the opportunity comes for Bryce to play in the majors, Bronny will be there to welcome his brother with open arms.

While we will have to wait a while before Bryce can join the NBA, is LeBron James on his way out of the league?

What’s your perspective on:

Is Bryce James set to outshine Bronny and carry the James legacy to new heights?

LeBron James gives clarity on retirement stance!

The fact that his sons are old enough to play in the league should be an indicator—James is closer to retirement than we thought. He is 40 and his numbers are as staggering as they are—they still aren’t like the glory days. Well, in the interview with Pat McAfee, Bron shed light on this exact topic.

“I mean, I’ve done this for a long time. Now you get to top of the roller coaster, and ‘okay, when does this [go over]’ and I understand that… I am all about the process. And if it gets to the point where I don’t feel like showing up to the arena five hours in advance, or I don’t feel like training… like when it gets to that point… [you know it’s over].”

So when James sees his own interest fading away from the sport and the process he has set up for himself, he will know it is time to walk away. However, the basketball player did not provide any timeline.

Regardless of the retirement topic, Bron is making sure his kids, Bronny and Bryce James, carry forward his legacy. It might be early days, but still worth asking—which team do you think will be the first to snap up young Bryce when the time comes? Let us know in the comments below.
