The Kings’ season might have ended, but their problems have not. Earlier this week, they faced a brutal elimination after getting blown out by the Mavs in the Play-In tournament. Within hours, they fired their GM Monte McNair, causing major chaos in the organization. And just when things were starting to calm down, their superstar DeMar DeRozan got himself into some deep water off the court.

Turns out, Deebo got into a physical altercation with another man at Yume Sushi in Calabasas. The incident occurred Friday night, and the 28-second clip of the fight was made public by TMZ. The video shows DeRozan reaching for the man’s legs as he lay on the floor, while another person in a suit tries to pull the Kings star away. Amid the altercation, an unidentified woman in a gray sweatsuit can be heard yelling, “Let him go D. Let him go.”

As DeMar walks away, the man gets up and immediately begins asking for his phone from the NBA veteran. “I need my phone! Give me my phone!” He yells, charging toward Deebo while the unidentified woman separates the two by standing in between. The Kings star then proceeds to walk away from the altercation by stepping into another section of the restaurant, as the woman tells him, “Go De, go!”

Meanwhile, the man continues yelling at him and cursing him out. The woman keeps him at bay for the entirety of the incident. Although her identity remains unknown, she played a crucial role in deescalating the situation. As expected, the police were called soon after and the LA County Sheriff’s department is reportedly investigating the incident. Per Sgt. Brandon Painter, “the incident is the subject of an active and ongoing investigation.” No further details were provided. But what caused this mayhem?

Eyewitness reveals reason behind DeMar DeRozan’s ugly fight that led to the man leaving in an ambulance

According to an unidentified witness, the altercation began when the man in question “shoved a phone with a bright light in DeMar’s face.” Maybe he was just an excited fan. However, the Kings star reportedly did not like the gesture and knocked the phone out of the man’s hand. The witness also revealed that following the ugly fight, the man left in an ambulance, seemingly injured.

DeMar DeRozan's sushi brawl—Is this a sign of deeper issues within the Kings' organization?

Have an interesting take?

Meanwhile, the restaurant authorities have not verified the details. Also, the Kings remain tight-lipped about the entire incident, likely unwilling to comment until they receive verified facts.

Of course, this only adds to the list of troubles for the Sacramento franchise and DeRozan. Moreover, this is not a good look for Deebo, who finished his debut season with the Kings averaging his lowest numbers in four years, at 22.2 points and over four assists. Thoughts?
